I think they should be - strictly from a moderating point of view, only using their mod powers when absolutely necessary. I think that one of the merits to this forum as opposed to something like /r/leagueoflegends is that this forum really allows users to foster organic discussions. In contrast, the restrictive guidelines for posting on the league subreddit try to filter out common ****posts. However this method isn't fully accurate imo
