I max E first most of the times when I play Karma support because I like using her R-E a lot and I use her R-Q only when I want to chase down a kill with my teammates. ( of course I use R-W too you know the situations). So I wanted to know your opinion about maxing E first. Perhaps when her multiple nerfs on it, it may not be the best choice to max it anymore but it stills feels decent to me.

Well, this skill order is probably still viable (though not optimal). I don't think I would just straight max E because you lose out on the ability to harass very quickly.

Interesting Guide format, looks really appealing and is easy to read as all the info is packed and you don't have to scroll a lot for the main information. Regardless of that still a great guide on Karma , gonna try this build next game if i ever pick Karma :)

Here's the template I used. It does a much better job of explaining how it works than I can. I did make some changes to the coding, but this will give you the gist of it.

Thank you so much! This is one of the best, helpful, guide I've ever read! I find it easier to play with her after what I red in your in-depth guide! Also I think, that the build is really nice and options for build vary. I've improved my play and find it fun to choose Karma over and over again, thanks to your guide! What's your opinnion about the latest nerfs on Karma? I believe they got her really hard and she lost a lot of her shield power + her other nerfs lately... :/

I've still found her fun to play and they haven't completely hamstrung her or anything, but I wish they hadn't continued to nerf her. She wasn't overpowered, just good, and this has been the first time since her release that she saw any significant amount of play.

I agreed when they nerfed her W (made it 2 tics instead of 3) because she was getting her ult too fast and with the R E nerf which movement speed scales with E rank I bieleve she deserved that but when they started nerfing again and again it was way too much... I understand that lcs was playing her a lot but it's not just now. they were playing in S5- S6 too were the new support items too strong...? Why did they release them at first hand then...

Yea, I've been playing her since release and, by comparison, seeing consistent competitive play over a couple seasons (she wasn't played as consistently in s5 as she has been in s6-7) is just not much compared to her being ignored and hardly played for for the first 4. They completely ignored her for a long time, aside from a rework that didn't really change how much she was played for a while, and then she finally sees play for more than a short time and they nerf her a bunch of times. I know it's partially because they want to force a change in the meta, which is still pretty part of, but it has started to get frustrating given how long they let her collect dust.

The highest chance of winrate build early game IMO (I got to Diamond using it with Nami, Lulu and Karma http://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=kirlin) is:
Frostfang->Mobility Boots/Sighstone (order depending on gold and lane advantage/disadvantage)->Aether Wisp (you get all of this to get a lot of extra mobility out of combat to get to lanes faster to set up ganks and return to your own lane)->Ardent Censer->Locket of the Iron Solari/Redemption (order depending if I need instant shield vs burst or healing vs poke)->Elixir of Sorcery->Ludens Echo/Rabadon Deathcap (depending on how much gold I have, Rabadons best ALWAYS). This 2 is superlate game buys (post 45-50 min.) It fills the slot reserved for pink wards.

hey. i prefer karma in a tanky playstyle. rod of the ages as first item after 2nd supportitem, then spirit visage. and mantra always on W. try to get the 45% cdr with talents and items, and you have an extremely tanky build, for a mage, that still can do high amounts of damage.
due to the 45% cdr you have your karma ready upt to 2 times in teamfights, spamming Q and E. with the mantra-W you try to snare the ADC, enemy team focuses you, you spam your shields, get the (up to) 40% heal (your guide says its 20%, but its actually 2 times 20% of your missing life), and the heal from rod of the ages. all this combined with runic armor and spirit visage makes you so unbelievable tanky...
i always play this style, and have a 58% winrate with karma this season as support.
the only downside is when a melee decides to take healreduce. but since nobody ever buys those items (besides morello (an even when i'm frickin tell them to buy it....)) its not such a big treath.

I think it's generally a poor idea to build full AP items as a support unless you are very fed. That build may make you superficially tanky, but it's expensive (which matters as a support) and lacks utility through items because you're forgoing support items for and . I've been sitting at a similar winrate with this season and I build her as a support. is generally a better mastery for than because it gives a nice boost to your poke early on, which is really good for her.

I'm aware that, by the way, heals twice, the "20%+" meant "20% plus more". It's also not a good idea to use on the enemy ADC unless you know you won't need or . is almost always a better bet than in a team fight because it gives a rather nice shield to the initial target and 60% movement speed plus half the original shield value to all targets in range.

The idea you're talking about isn't new (I've done it before), but most people take that style of build/play top lane.

Hi I'm currently running 9MP marks 9HP seals and 9AP glyphs with 3 movement speed quints what do you think about it, since I like high movement speed and I usually build tier 1 movement speed boots and later my first finished item is probably Ardent/Mikael/Redemption than later perhaps I finish Ionian
Boots in case I take Solari because with new patch Solari doesn't give cdr also that Karma is really good at kiting and with movement speed quints she will almost no need for talisman of ascension against Thresh like compositions and can easily kite almost anyone and dodge things and one more thing that why professionals taking flat hp mastery over runic armor don't you thinks it is really meaningless? Runic Armor + Whisper with combined extra healing + barrier support like items your Renewal almost healing 1-2k hp if used correctly and that can be done in every a few secs with low cooldowns.

And one...more things sorry should we pick over bot masteries are critical for Karma... Thanks ^^

The runes are fine. Probably not optimal, but fine. Also, I'm not sure what you're looking at, there are plenty of people putting points in on from what I can see on probuilds. A lot of people put one to three points in with two to four in and I found at least two games where they had 5 points in . It seems to mostly be 1 in and 4 in , which indicates that 2% (rounded up from 1.6%) extra value on the shield by itself is worth it on its own, however 8% is definitely noticeable and I prefer it because I already run flat health seals on anyways. Most people run , a couple people run . Either is fine, it's up to you what you want to use, they're both good.

Hi again, while playing Karma I'm usually taking too, what do you think about it? At early game, q does 80 damage more or less in normal but while using green father your q damaging something like 80-160 hp, in addition, I'm currently using 9x for yellows, those runes adding total 216 extra hp at 18lvl and, that means +12 more hp every Lvl so even you pick you will achieve more hp than you get with normal runes, 3x movement speed runes are really awesome and I like them but playing without armor is wrong isn't it? I'm not entirely sure about it really but without movement speed and magic pen runes I feel somehow odd while playing Karma because movement speed is fitting Karma like a glove,
and maxing build requires magic penetration (I'm also currently using like Gorilla did [a professional sup player] its really well for early game poking) for runes but as a result, I don't have any extra magic resistance or armour at early game is this a big problem for Karma?

@ RikudouDovahkiin: I don't really use MR runes on her anymore either (just full flat AP glyphs, or 6 AP with 3 flat mana regen in some match ups). Nothing wrong with , I just didn't like it enough on to use it over . It's super good on though. Whether or not I use tends to depend on the match up itself. I don't always use or anything, I just mostly use it. I've also changed my set up a bit recently (which I'm going to alter this guide to include), as I've just found certain things I wasn't doing before are working better for me atm. I don't think the lack of MR is that much of an issue right now (people shouldn't be targeting you that much anyways), but I would definitely recommend trying to go for 8-9 flat armor from runes at level one.

Oh well, thanks for that explanatory reply ^^! Does that also mean I may use armour marks to achieve 8 armour at early game instead of magic penetration marks because I just don't want to give up on my cute movement speed quints >.< sorry for troubling you *-*

@ RikudouDovahkiin: It's no trouble at all, I don't mind answering, though I'm not near as highly ranked as you are (and therefore feel like any advice I might offer is not necessarily helpful). I wouldn't use armor marks on her, personally, but you could use 9 armor seals since you don't want to swap out one movement speed quint for an armor quint, especially if you take 5 points in .

Thanks 4 all, taking armour from somewhere seems essential for Karma so why reason I built 9x scaling hp was to fix lack of flat hp from runes and masteries, so I could take but that advantage may become sometimes to a disadvantage, it seems that lack of early resistances and things! exactly, missing some things seems somehow a little irritating but I'm not sure if whats I'm doing on Karma is right or wrong, but I'm usually finding myself using combined with runic armor and whisper with an early healing bonus item which letting me tank some assassins or burst adcs even without armour, really sorry for bothering that much, but would you mind trying that ms runes as it increases ms drastically in lane, when you ganked just run into bushes and your ms almost ups to 400, but really I thinks runes are really effective to your late role in your champion, taking ap quints seems unnecessary as Karma has already high base stats that requires some support with magic penetration from marks, and ofc heal or another thing to support survivability to purify early disadvantage comes with it seems that I should sacrifice my sweety quints for armor, I'm really enjoying playing Karma, thanks for the great guide that illuminates path of confused Karmas, you sirrah/ma'am have just earned one upvote more ^^!

@ RikudouDovahkiin: The flat AP also goes directly into /, which is helpful since riot nerfed their base values, especially because gets 110% AP added to it. That's why I use it. I probably will try using MS quints on her at some point though; I actually saw a couple people running one MS quint on her on probuilds when I decided to check what runepage people were generally using right now. I was using 5 points in too, but ended up swapping to two because the extra armor from a few armor seals was proving helpful, but I still wanted about the same amount of bonus health at level one from my remaining health seals + the points in . Honestly, from what I can see on probuilds there's a lot of variation in the runes and masteries people use on right now, so it seems there's a lot of viable options for her. I'm glad the discussion is helpful, I always worry I'm not really giving helpful responses. Thanks for the upvote, it's greatly appreciated!
