I really love your guide and how much thought you put into it! I was wondering if you are going to do an update of your Lux Support guide anytime soon? I'm using your mid-guide now to play Lux AP support, but I'm interested if there is anyway to optimize my build/items/runes, given that I... well... play support :p.
Also I was wondering if you could do a little more explanation on why we're not using Luden's anymore? Many Lux guides still recommend Luden's Companion, but I'm sticking to your guide. I feel like my builds without Ludens are just better, but I can't really explain why. In any case, I don't like the fact that Luden's is a gun now xD It just feels wrong on Lux... xD
I think Horizon Focus is absoutely amazing. I love how it gives vision, especially on support Lux. It can help teammates to chase down enemies. I'm a little more in doubt about Malignance. I feel like I need it for mana, but I'm not so sure about the ability haste on ultimate. Do we really need that? Some games I feel like I even more ability haste on my ult, but there is also lots of games where I feel like I have more than enough cooldown on my ult. What do you think? Also considering Lux support?
I would love to hear from you! :)

Yes I remember you!! Welcome back to League :)
I absolutely will be updating my support guide soon! It's been a long time coming since the start of this season for sure and apologies for not updating it sooner- theres just so many changes and I have not had the time for my support guide yet! Even just updating this guide takes a while, especially during the beginning of the season when they drastically change builds based on item changes early on. For Lux support rn, you can either go AP and follow this guide, besides of course getting the support item (Zak'Zak is the best for AP). For support, dream maker is the best if you're going super shields! Staff -> Moonstone/shielding item -> Imperial is kinda the main build but tbh you can be really flexible with this depending on the game (ardent for a lot of attack based, etc). I hope to get it updated soon for you but I hope this helps a bit!
As for Luden's, its been a really bad item since the new season. They nerfed it heavily and took away the magic pen, which is what made it the best mythic for Lux last season. I think its gotten 2-3 buffs so starting this patch, its not a bad item at all! I would highly suggest using it if you like burst Lux, especially in the support role where your items are limited based on gold so every item counts. The reason why malignance is so good is because its just a solid item stat wise and the pool is actually really cool. Since its based on damage, ive had dragon or teamfights where I've made a HUGE puddle and it really helps a lot with zoning in fights. Also your ultimate is about 19s at level 16 if you have ultimate hunter on top of this. Once I am level 16, I will use my ultimate really liberally to get carries low right before an objective and they're forced to back, try to steal objectives, etc. There have even been fights where I get to ult twice and it feels really good! Or you can get a pick and then siege mid and have your ult back up again for their defense. Her ult with elder and malignance is also really dangerous - i have only used my ult on a full health carry and killed them with elder lol. I was really hesitant about malignance in the beginning of the season but its an overall really good item for Lux.
I do think, however, Ludens will be the go-to once its a better item since Lux's primary idea is burst. I have not played this patch enough to know if we can swap it fully over to Ludens yet but its definitely getting there. You're so right though, the gun on Lux feels out of character and almost illegal lol.
Horizon has been absolutely fantastic this season and tbh the vision exposure is insane and really underrated!!
I have been going malignance -> horizon -> rabadons in most of my games and it has felt soooo good! We will see how the patches change the Lux build though, especially bc on the PBE before this season, stormsurge and shadowflame were a really dynamic duo for Lux (and burst in general) but storm has gotten some massive nerfs since then.
I hope my explanations help and please feel free to ask any more questions if you have any. Best of Lux in your games :)

I went ahead and created a more convenient way to view the matchups. I split them into 4 categories instead of 5 - and I even added a Table of Contents for each champion! Just click on the champion you want and it will take you right to that profile! Hopefully that helps with better convenience and visibility :)

I appreciate that a lot <3 thank you for supporting me!
Haha if you ever want, I can definitely watch a game or two to help out! It's always a great idea to watch your own games to see what you think you're doing wrong and might need to change in future games! VOD reviews are soo important for improving!

P.S. I know it's a small detail but in the mastery section the color's of the stars for merciless and meditation seem to be flipped. IDK how I even noticed it XD.
You know what, I take DFT 100% of the time on Aram because I KNOW I won't be able to get my TLD off often and the sustain is very good, but I really will have to try out DFT in hard matchups and let you know. I know it's been rough lately for Lux- she is currently at a 49% winrate (was 46% last time I checked so I'm glad it went up) because of the weaknesses of Lux/assassins/hexdrinker+QSS+Edge of Night. I will definitely have to try DFT out in certain situations and see what I come up with- and maybe even put it in my guide and mention you if I do- thank you so much for this idea! :)
Also OOPS, I'll have to flip those around haha nice hawk eyes ;)
Finally, I want to thank you again for your time reading my guide and I hope it helped you in anyway! I'm always here if you need any questions/concerns answered or even anything in general and I'm always also down for criticism of my guide to make it better!
See you on the rift!

I moved into my apartment today and everything has been hectic, so I haven't had the chance to try it out, but I promise I will!
I feel you dude, ITS SO TILTING WHEN YOU SNIPE THEM AND THEY ESCAPE WITH LIKE 8 HEALTH GAFDJGAFIGOIJFFDOKOAD
Anyhow, let me know if you need anything or see anything on my guide! I do have to update some stuff (like the Lux vs other champs section) since I made it so long ago and League has changed, but any constructive criticism is always great :)
I want to thank YOU!! for both your initial response and reply and I wish the very luck to you, Willtato!

Now that I've talked myself up (-_-) I'd like to suggest one thing. I think Annie should be moved down a bit in the matchups section. In my limited experience, Lux can easily shut down Annie early with her superior range. Once level 6 comes around, Annie usually has to blow one or both of her summoner spells AND her ult(which has a higher cooldown and is more important for Annie to hold on to). Just to kill you and if you have barrier, it might just flat out fail. Like I said though, I'm still pretty bad at League so IDK.
I also have a few questions :^)
Have you found any "counter busters" for Lux? What I mean by this is a champion who does well against Lux's main counters, thereby making you harder to counter in general.
Finally, do you think Lux is good for solo queue? I seem to always find myself falling behind when my jungler doesn't gank but the enemy does. I also have been having trouble in the assassin heavy meta (I have nightmares about Katarina.)
Anyway, I hope all goes well with your new apartment! Thank's so much for the guide. It's so good it makes me say "Wot in Luxation" *cringe* I'll stop now.

As for Annie, you honestly could have a point. I feel like every time I go against an Annie, it seems to be some Annie Main (@Annie Bot). I'll have to reconsider it. I don't think she will ever be a HARD counter, nor a very easy counter, but she might be a little easier than I might think, thank you for that!
Sure thing, questions are always welcome :)
1. I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by 'counter busters'. Can you please explain further? I'll totally help however I can!
2. I think Lux is VERY good for soloque, especially in elos gold and below. And ESPECIALLY WITH THE LUX BUFFS HOPEFULLY COMING SOON!! Lower elos don't know how to dodge nearly as well, and Lux relies on her skillshots. If you get good with her skillshots, you will succeed. I was put in gold 5 this season after my placements, and jumped to gold 3 because of it. I didn't even need to get through gold 4, which was cool. Now I'm currently Plat 2 working my way to maybe the dream, diamond, but Lux isn't nearly as good in higher elos :(
However, she also supplies a bind, a long range snipe, and a shield for the whole team, as well as poke with her E, which works great before team fights/if you need vision of something like dragon or baron!!
As for assassins, that can be tricky because those are her counters, normally. Exhaust and barrier are the best to take versus them. Versus Kat, trying to poke her out and auto her is key. You can also push her and roam. Also watch where her daggers are, or else she can get free damage on you!
Thank you, tons of unpacking and rearranging but it's been great! And I thank you for reading my VERY lengthy guide and coming with constructive criticism for it, that's admirable.
LOL the meme will prevail!!
Can't wait to hear back from you and good luck with everything!

Let's take Lux's patriotic brother, Garen. Garen is very black/white about his counters. He get's countered by champions who can consistently poke from range and excels against those who can't due to his ability to outlast them with no mana and his regen passive. One example of a counter buster for Garen is Tahm Kench. Tahm naturally resists poke due to his thick skin and can place ranged champions in more... favorable positions by swallowing them up. If a Garen player learns how to play Tshm Kench toplane he will be at an advantage when picking after his opponent. If he sees a filthy Darius, WHOOP he goes Garen and show's him who's the REAL spin king. However, if he see's a Teemo all he has to do is unbench the Kench and... satisfy his cravings.
Most champions don't have strengths and weaknesses vs certain types of champions that are so easy to analyze. They can still, however have counter busters. For example, in my (minimal) experience, Jinx tends to do well against many ADCs that Kalista has a hard time against and vice versa. This isn't true in ALL cases (they can both shove that Vayne WAAAAY out of lane but collapse under the burst of Quinn and Valor.) But in many cases it is true and by learning both you can cover more area and be harder to counter as an ADC main (which I'm not, but that's not the point).
I hope that explains what I meant by counter busters. I feel like Fizz may be a good one for Lux. His hypermobility tend to be good against pesky Kat's and LeBlughs who can seem to be everywhere at once. I don't know though becuse I don't really play assassins. Why get in the middle of a fight to burs a squishy when you can burst 2 from a mile away amirite? Also as of now I have 150 mastery points and only ONE mastery 5 champion, Evelynn. I know she's an assassin, but she's not the same as the rest don't judge me. Hmph!
Anyway what I was getting at is I play a lot of champs instead of focusing on 1. Lux is like in my top 5 but I still don't have much experience on her so I've only encountered a Kat like twice and didn't really know how to play against a champion who can blink in ill me and blink out in like a second XD. Thank's for the advice. The assassin update kinda made me quit summoner's rift for a while and I've mostly just been playing ARAM, but I think this guide will really help me get back out there and have some fun.
As a final note, I see you've included your favorite forms in the guide. What form has your favorite ultimate VOICELINE though? Mine is totally dark because you can kill the adc and midlaner and support all at once and then scream in all chat "FADE!"
Well that's enough rambling for me. Sorry for the long *** comment I just was bored. I dunno.

It seems that some assassins can counter other assassins. Annie is a safe and easy pick for mostly all of these. Ekko is very good but he has a harder gameplay than someone like Annie. Lissandra is good vs assassins because she can just ult herself- and she is about to get a small buff! Lulu is also very good with that polymorph (if you need a support-y mid laner, as well as Karma).
However, with all of this, just play your best champions or play someone safe. I can tell you to "learn Swain" or "Learn Ekko", but if you aren't good at Swain/Ekko or don't like them, it won't be fun, you might actually do worse, and you're better off just going as Lux anyways.
But still, find someone who suits you but works. For example, I obviously main Lux. My other go to's are Ahri, Ori, Syndra, and Karma. Ahri is my mobility mage, Syndra is my bursty mage, Ori is my good teamfight-safe laning phase mage. Karma is my support mage. Annie is also good for team fights and she does decent in lane with the farming of her Q, although I don't play her too often. Cassio is also my bully mage, I've been loving her more lately. Having 3 mages you understand fully is very good because then if they choose someone like Yasuo, I can go Annie or Orianna instead of Lux. I play way more than 3, but my top 3 are definitely Lux, Syndra, Ori, with Ahri running very close. Minimum of 3 because if one is banned/picked or not available, you have 2 other options!
I would say definitely just play normals and practice the champs in Summoner's rift until you feel you are good at them. I main mid, so feel free to come to me with any champ. I have at the very minimum general knowledge with every mage (except Aurelion Sol bc I hate that champ but he's not too hard), so I'm sure I can help you in anyway possible!
No worries about the rambling, if you want to keep talking to me, feel free to add me on League, if you are on the NA server!
