Good Morning,
I’m writing this post not out of hate or anger, but to try and help some of the people in lower elos by spreading some of the top 5 things that affects our gameplay. A little about me I am a low elo player that tries not to take the game so serious. I was b5 last season and carried myself in a 2-week period to s3 before the end of the season. I know a lot of you will just gaff me off but if I can share some of my downfall I can try to help at least one person in bronze and silver climb and I’ll be happy with that. So, this is my personal list of thinks ive learned

1. Rushing Into ranked. This is a no brainer but I personally did this in season 5. I didn’t take the time when I hit 30 to get some games in with people who have been on level 30 and have been played a few ranked games. The problem is that we don’t realize that from 1-29, most of the time it is either people learning that game or smurfs. So, when we do good we think the game is easy and that im great, only to find out you don’t have the tool necessary to actually play. My recommendation is if you are new please when you hit 30 spend at least 2 months just in norms practicing your crafts and finding a role that fits you.

2. The it’s only me syndrome. I know a lot of higher elo player will say “focus on you it’s solo que.” Here is the thing, there is a difference between focusing on yourself to help the team win and focusing blindly on you. Bronze and silver don’t realize that this is a TEAM game. When you are doing good but the team is doing bad if you lose you are still part of the problem of the loss. I get it not every game can be carried, but roaming more, warding your side of jungle if you are top so your jungler knows if his buffs got taking, not jumping into fights because you are 11 and 2 and getting mad if your team can’t follow up helps every bit to get back into a game. Looking out for you is more so making sure you don’t die too early in lane and farming correctly.

3. Bringing an unknown champ to ranked. So, as a person that plays ADC and SUP I try to have a 3 to 4 champ player pool of champs I know so that I know who to pick into or who meets my team needs. The problem that lower elo players have is that we tend to either A. bring a champ we just brought or played a game with into ranked or B. only picking a champ because it’s the Pick of the month (META Slaves, get to that in a sec -_-) champion. Now im fine with this at times if you have a little skill but if you go 0 and 5 with the champ the option I recommend is next game just go to norms and practice him or her a few more games and more relative to the game sit at tower and farm as much as you can till you get help. You hurt the team more when you don’t know the champ and you feel as though I need kills to get back in the game rather than saying I messed up let me farm and do what I can.

4. The Meta Slave. Ok this is where if you don’t agree with me you might want to turn away. Ok. ALL META ISNT GOOD META! The one thing I never did was pick up a champ because everyone played it. My biggest problem I have in lower elo is that people try to tell me who to pick and what to build because it’s meta. As a player that have been playing for 3 years now that is the most toxic thing you can do in my opinion. The reason I say this is because yes that champ might be strong or yes that build might be good but skill in bronze always counters meta picks and builds. Also, you never build the same for every game because things like BotRK is hot. Every game calls for a different build sometimes you might need to go armor pen jhin, sometimes you might need firecannon over hurricanes on Caitlin. I say this because I was a twich main before twich got hot (first champ season 4), I played a game won my lane and was 6 and 0 while roaming to help mid and jungle, and the first thing I was told was my build was bad because I went oldschool BotRK and Ghostblade twitch when twitch first started using hurricanes. My thing is I have the skill to know how to play my champs meta or not so I shouldn’t be told who to pick or what to build because I know how to build off who im playing and how the game is going.

Sorry a little ranting there, but to the last point.

5. The name of the game is Tilt. Now this out of everything is the number one reason we don’t climb. The point of bronze isn’t to win lane or get objectives 100%. It is 20% that 80% tilt the person youre in lane with and watch their team cave in. You see, 95% of bronze chat are missing pings and arguments and 5% actual motivation. We must remember in bronze and silver 5% of the people playing re the ages of 12-20 and this makes it easy to get them mad. If I can get 2 kills or as a sup roam and get a kill mid it is wonderful to watch people go crazy in all chat while im in all chat instigating the argument even more. It’s called destroying an empire from the inside. When this happens to you however, please just mute everyone and play safe as much as you can. Trust me when I say this the moment you engage in an argument with anyone your focus is no longer there.

If this sound like a Huge rant please don’t hesitate to comment and let me know how you feel. Id also like to hear from higher elo players on their experiences and thoughts. And if you would like to play with me just let me know I can play with anyone if they are chill.

Oh and last point. The number one way to climb…….is to not take rank so seriously and just have fun. Trust me when you stop treating league like a job and more like the game it’s intended to be you will see a huge improvement in everything.

Most of your points and recommendations are valid, but I got a couple of comments to add.

You seem to have missed the point of the "focus on you". Personally, what I mean when I say that is that the only thing that's constant in all your ranked games is going to be YOU. So the only way to win more games is if YOU improve.

It's never intended as an excuse to not going into fights (because you're 11/2? I don't see the logical connection between the advice and not going in when you're fed), nor staying in lane, nor playing bad in general. It's about focusing on improving yourself. If that means you roam more or splitpush better or stop flaming is up to your own self-improvement path.

My biggest problem I have in lower elo is
Get used to the lower elo problems because most if not all of them are in every elo. Feeders, toxic people, meta slaves, bad players... they don't go away once you get to Gold V. Most of them don't even get better. It's a pretty common misconception though.

And for those problems that get better you'll have new problems to care about since while you get better you'll see subtler mistakes as complete fails. Sooooo, try your best to have fun :^)

thank for the feedback.I was trying to use the 11 and 2 point as If I were fed and I can pick off people to help my team I wouldnt blindly dive into a fight and get mad when my team is afraid too help. instead I would try to fid a way to get them kills or as you said split push to cause pressure on the map to help them get objectives
