Hello! Aery is less great on now, as his poke is less guaranteed and less often. It's not that it wouldn't work, I just think that , , (or even now, it looks like) will be always be better.

What would the 'Sustain-EON' (onhit-sustain) runes be used for which champions?

Hey there! That build is highly experimental, but I believe it will be the best build going forward for Pantheon after his rework. Currently, it's best used when facing an opponent with low DPS, some sustain, are melee, or have poke. A few examples of this could be Cho'gath, Tahm Kench, Malphite, Fiora. The idea is to use your Q to stack , then walk up and start autoing the enemy. You won't be able to blow up enemy carries like a Lethality build allows you to do, but it will be very hard for anyone to 1v1 you in a sidelane. Hope this helps, and good luck on the Rift!

Yeah, sorry about that. I've been procrastinating updating the guide at all recently because I knew there would be a ton of work once the impending rework was announced. I've played a limited amount of of into the new Morde, so take that into account here too.

You probably want to go here, since you will absolutely lose extended trades due to his passive. Wait for him to shove you in, as he has no escapes and can be killed easily if your jungler ganks level 3. The safest time to engage with W is when his E is down, or at the very least right after he uses his Q. If he has all abilities up and you jump in, you'll probably get cut down by his passive trying to run away. At some point you just won't be able to kill him due to his W and his stacking health, so try and get a few early kills then roam. If he snags you With R, you can still use to be invulnerable for a few seconds during his ult.

I wouldn't suggest picking into a Morde, but hopefully this helps if you get stuck in this matchup. Good luck on the Rift!

P.S. Death Grasp (Mord's W) cancels Panth's ult which sucks so I just hope the player already used it after their ult but before mine!

I just wanted to say that I was looking to try out Pantheon and found your guide! It is so in depth and amazing of all the information it carries. It even made me laugh a few times in the mindset section xD. Also saw that you respond to people who comment on here and thought that was just absolutely amazing. Hey, I don't play myself, but every time I see this guide it just blows my mind. The combination of beautiful visuals and in-depth information is just insane. I think I can safely say this guide is an inspiration for every guide writer. At least for me it is.

Any thoughts on jungle? He heavily relies on ganking, but since the scuttle crab spawn being delayed, I rarely see him in the jungle.

Hey there! That's very kind of you to say :) I don't have a ton of experience with jungle, especially not this season, so I might not be the best person to answer this question. However, the ones I have seen try to cheese gank immobile lanes after getting a buff or two. If you can kill mid or top right before the scuttle spawns, you can take them for free because your lane can come help you while the enemy jungler's lane can't. I think Panth jungle works in specific situations (low mobility enemies), but is not extremely strong currently as AP junglers seem to be making a comeback.

Thanks for your answer! It confirmed what I thought. I hope the rework gives him the ability to farm the jungle so he can also be played as a normal jungler, not as a cheesy pick.

I used to play Pantheon so many years ago, and i wanted to play it again, your guide is really complete, it helped me alot to understand all the matchups, but i still can't imagine myself playing without Electrocute xD Great guide btw :D

Great guide, as i have played alot of pantheon myself, i would reccomend to also try these runes if you have some mana problems: sumommon aery, with manaflow band, absolute focus, gathering storm, then take precision with triumph and coup de grace. The summon aery also help with real early damage, since you dont have to use 3 spells to activate it. manaflow will increase you mana every time you get early kills, it will also help you stay in lane if you need to. then absolute focus, when you poke enemies in the early game it helps with damage, and then gathering storm will make your lategame not that hard, since you got more damage (combine with black cleaver and the armor is easy to get past). Triumph and coup de grace is self explanatory.
I like these runes more since they help at the start, and are not useless mid to late game. I would reccomend to try them and see if you like it, but i understand it is not for everyone though

Hey there! Glad you liked my guide :D I used to have Aery as the seccond recommended runepage, but eventually I decided that Aftershock was better. My main reasoning is that Aery is not so great outside of lane; in teamfights, you're really only getting one or two procs off of it. Aftershock lets you engage in teamfights and survive much longer, while still giving the benefits of a Sorcery secondary tree (Manaflow, 10% CDR etc).

aery is good for splitpushing as well, and if your team need help you always (hopefully) got your ult ready. As you will most likely only have to do a 1v1 during your push

Started playing toplane about a month ago, transitioned from Jungler/Support and this guide helped a lot with Pantheon but also the safe zones and warding around toplane. Huge thanks, great indepth guide, good luck this season!

Upvote, but:
- I am not a player(I played him in the past, always had a strong early/mid game), but I play other champs, one of which is . In the match-ups section you say it's extremely easy, but not really: his defensive stats are low, but his heals make up for it, and once he gets his he can outheal your Q's. At the same time, your only way to beat an is if you have up, if you have previously used it(and the guy knows what he's doing), he may try to all in you. Your Q isn't the only poke element, his E too is ranged and quite easy to land(it deals magic damage too so armor won't do much against it).
- I'd say is extremely situational(maybe against a or something, a mere shouldn't really deny you that much considering the damage on your Q), but is better because your build lacks health, and you won't always fight the enemy ADC(this item may be helpful with taking down those notorious tanks). It may be personal preference, but consider this.
- Yet again, another item I disagree with is , and here's why: you may say that it heals you but considering you focus the carries(and they deal most of their damage through auto-attacks) you shield will do a good job with defending you(though it may be tougher against certain opponents). Considering your aim is to finish the game early, I'd say or are better because they give you more MS(helping you roam around more efficiently) and they give armor pen(the AD these items give are comparable to ).
- After some point, should be just pushing his lane only, thus making a good item. You focus too much on your own lane, if you get an advantage and just afk top, your team won't benefit whatsoever. Having a pushed lane, you can roam mid, use your ult on bot and get your allies the boost they need. At the same time, you can punish your enemies just fine under their turret, because of your Q and passive.
If you find my points are false and refute them, please send me a PM saying you did so. I want to learn just as much as everybody so I'd never turn down a chance to do so.

Hey there; I appreciate the review! You made several good points, so let me take them on one by one and give you my reasoning.

1. Aatrox is not an extremely easy matchup
My reasoning for saying that is an easy matchup is based on the fact that 's early laning phase is simply superior. If you play the lane correctly, you will be able to zone the off the minion wave during level 1-5 (before the has backed), deny his heal and win the poke game (with armor seals, 's level 1 armor is still only 34). Even if goes off, the will be too low to stay in lane and you will get a CS/level advantage. Plus, an early can quickly reduce the healing has by a LOT. Any early lead for , however small, quickly makes him snowball since rarely rushes armor items.

2. Mortal Reminder is situational
I agree here; I actually saw this the other day when I was changing up my guide graphics but never got around to changing it. I am still not 100% on this though, because usually by the time the enemy tanks get too tough to kill you've already lost as anyways. Also, many of 's opponents toplane rely on sustain so building an earlyish then finishing it with is often beneficial.

3. Death's Dance is outclassed by other items in Pantheon's build
I go into a bit of detail why I don't prefer or in the guide, but it basically boils down to scaling and utility. I feel like the heal and anti-burst passive from outperform the MS/AS boost from . I do say in the guide, however, that if you are stomping early you should grab Youmuu's because it falls off late and give nice early/mid game stats. This guide is intended to give a build that benefits the player in MOST games, however, which is why I have instead.

4. Ravenous Hydra is a good item for Pantheon
I strongly disagree with this point. caters more to onhit champions, and benefits very little from the lifesteal or active. provides comparable healing to this, as well as giving needed CDR and an anti-burst passive. clears waves way too well already to justify getting another waveclear item.
