Also the armor / MR chart you posted is BS, the mathematics is wrong. Example: 60% damage reduction is 25% better than 50% damage reduction. Not 10% better. Explanation: If the enemy does 1000 damage before resistances, then you take 400 damage with 60% damage reduction, instead of 500 damage if you had 50% damage reduction. Taking 400 damage is 25% better than taking 500 damage because the enemy would need to have 25% higher damage to deal the same 500 damage to you.
(For similar reasons, damage reductions from Red Smite / Phantom Dancer / Ninja Tabi / abilities like Master Yi's W stack much more strongly than most people understand. This makes Red Smite + Ninja Tabi a great pairing.)
You also have not understood what I meant about Red Smite. The key aspect of red smite is that it gives you 20% damage reduction from your enemy. This stacks excellently with other damage reduction e.g. 10% reduction on basic attacks from Ninja Tabi, due to simple mathematics. The effect of having two different damage reductions is multiplicative / both are amplified. For example with both Red Smite and Ninja Tabi, against a basic attacking enemy, the enemy would need to have 42.8% higher damage to kill you compared with the position if you had other boots, the same +30 armor from 2 x
BTW from this, the conclusion is that the advice in your guide - e.g. that Xin should normally prefer a Ninja Tabi + Red Smite combo to ensure he wins his 1 v 1 battles, is good advice, of course depending on enemy team composition.
