Hey vapora. Have you done any pbe testing for xayah yet? Along with kaisa, xayah is one of my fav champs, and i have been experimenting a lot with her. The new shoujin spear for crit champs seems really busted on her from my testing since im able to keep my w up nearly permanently in fights. And my other abilities have no cd thx to it. I wanted to know your thoughts on this item for her and if you think this item might bring xayah back into the meta a bit. (Just in case you arent fully read up on the new items, im talking about navori quickblade, which gives 60 ad 20% crit chance and i think 30 ability haste if i recall right. And its passive refunds remaining non ultimate cds by 20% when you land a critical strike auto attack.)

No I haven't tested Xayah yet, but that item does seem to be interesting for her. I'll be sure to try it if I'm playing Xayah on PBE!

btw, what mythic do you think she will prefer in s11? since my previous comment about shieldbow, the item has been heavily changed to basically only give hp with no resists to back it up. so not as effective to stop assassins since assassins if you dont buy resists against them hit all thier damage for true damage later into the game. combined with also being able to break a 1k shield with just one auto attack thx to the anti sheild item they have. so it isnt the be all end all item it was at that time. so im wondering what your opinion on xayah's preferred mythic is?

If Navori Quickblade isn't a mythic item then I would assume Kraken Slayer would be her go-to, since from what I tested it's just the best ADC mythic item. I have to emphasize though that I haven't looked into or tested PBE items in about a month, so my opinions should be taken with a grain of salt until the items are actually live, then I will have a much greater idea of the state of the game in season 11.

ya. kraken, doesnt seem great after the nerfs. the bring it down passive barely hits for 100 damage now every third auto, even when you have 400+ ad. and sheildbow seems highly overloaded stat wise. 70 ad, 33% attack speed (obviously if going this you go alacrity. same rules as bork first, afterall), 20% crit chance, 900 hp (200 from mythic passive, 700 from lifeline shield) and 27% life steal. and considering how heavy burst is in s11, with tanks all of them, now having the damage to one shot an adc, every supp now one shots an adc, all adcs one shot an adc, all mages even none burst ypes, one shot adcs, all bruisers one shot adcs, and all assassins one shot adcs in s11, a low range adc like xayah might prefer shieldbow, to kraken, since you really only lose out on 32% attack speed going shieldbow instead of kraken. thats it, 32% attack speed. shieldbow even has more ad. honestly, kraken feels like it will be great for none adcs, like urgot, trynd, kayle, etc. but not that great for adcs, cause if you dont go shieldbow, your at the full mercy of your team. when going kraken, a 0/15/0 yone, was able to insta kill me while missing his ult, and half his abilities, and all he had was 1 item, and i was a level up to him. kinda tells you how much damage is in s11. mages have dfg again. combined with true damage, combined with 2 liandries, combined with enough magic pen to negate all an adcs base and built mr. hard to think adc champs will prefer kraken to shieldbow next season. kraken barely offers up more damage. while shieldbow in survivability more then makes up for the slight damage difference the items have, (that being 32% attack speed)

I appreciate the post. For now most of my ADC guides will be running Kraken Slayer as the standard first item since it does the most DPS, but I'll be keeping a close eye on winrates on the first day to see if itemizing for DPS is maybe not the greatest approach anymore. If so I'll be quick to adjust. I'll also be keeping an eye on 's first item winrate since I suspect the crit chance might make it a desirable first item for more ADCs than just and now.

hey vapora. saw your xayah game on your channel. so what are your over all thoughts atm on her. top tier again? low key busted? garbage? ok? or a solid viable adc again for solo que? would love to hear your overall thoughts on her so far.

I don't think she benefited from the changes quite as much as Kai'Sa but she definitely got a pretty huge benefit from the addition of , I think as builds get figured out she'll see a rise in priority.

Well hope you do get around to testing her on pbe. I feel she might have gotten off the best from adc item changes since now she can always itemize full crit. And so far from testing my fav mythic on her is sheildbow do to pd sheild being removed and put on it. And since she is supposed to be a anti dive champ this item allows her when ult is down to still fullfill that function in s11 with all the new nutty items

Hi I love your guide it got me started as an adc role :)
Noob question here: what makes you switch from the standard build to an anti tank or anti AP biuld (lets say for example you want to get gravious wounds) because the enemy team will always have someone tanky or some heavy hitter mage, so I dont really get why or when to switch.

Most of the times I try to see who is ahead or fed but I dunno if thats correct.

As the other user said, you don't cater your whole build to any particular style, you just build a situational item or two after your core build.

There's not really an "anti tank" or "anti AP" build for ADCs as they generally have a fairly standard build they follow that allows them to build situationally after completing their core items. Most of the time if you're doing fine you should just keep building crit or whatever is best for your champ and maybe a GA near the end unless you really need an item to help you kill or survive a certain champ (PD for some burst, Executioner's for healing, etc). For Xayah it'd be Essence Reaver into Infinity Edge and generally a zeal item following that though you could get a different T3 item first if you feel like it'll help you out more. For example if their entire team is AP then you might get Maw of Malmortius for the MR and Lifeline passive or if their team consists of mainly tanks (EX: Ornn, Voli, Galio, Draven, Naut team) then you might build Last Whisper after you get zeal when they start to get really tanky. You should nearly always build your core items before thinking about buying situationally, although boots are exempt from this.

Thnx for your reply! Great, so after I get the 3 core items that is when I should get situational items depending on how the game is developing? That is the moment I dont really know what to get, I find myself buying most of the times Mortal Reminder or Lord Dominik's Regards unless the whole enemy team is squishy because otherwise I cant kill the enemy tank in a teamfight when both backlanes are dead. Sometimes I just get a Mercurial Scimitar for removing CC if the enemy have heavy CC (vs Lux, Veigar)

Yes, you generally build situationally after 2-3 core items although you can build items like Executioner's Blade (for example if they have Darius, Yuumi, and Katarina on their team) or maybe a Hexdrinker (mostly AP team) as soon as your second or even your first has been completed if laning phase is over before finishing your core items. Mortal Reminder is always a good item unless your team already has lots of Grievous Wounds and are able to consistently apply it. Phantom Dancer is good because it's a zeal item and helps with kiting/survivability as well as giving that that 100% crit after RFC (or can even build before RFC if they have a kiteable team). Mercurial Scimitar is if they have suppression or one or two abilities that you really need to avoid but keep getting hit by to stay alive in teamfights (like Morde ulti) although you generally just build a QSS and don't complete the item until later. Guardian Angel is generally built last or close to last but if you're massively fed and can easily carry teamfights, don't want to give a huge shutdown away, your team doesn't have a lot of peel/aren't playing properly around you, or if you're one fight away from losing, then this can give you that "second chance" potentially if you die. Situational items are, well, situational so there are a lot of scenarios where they can be bought in which can make it difficult to judge when to buy but it helps to think about how useful that 800-1500 gold will be and how soon it can be useful versus if you purchased another item (especially if you haven't completed your core yet) and if you plan on teamfighting soon (baron, drag, etc). For now I'd say no, will have to wait on more data for a more conclusive answer though. Doesn't seem like it's changed who wants to actually use it. You're usually already in auto-attack range of enemies you've CC'd as Xayah.

I have a question about synergy with Rakan and runes...When with Rakan support..are resolve runes (shield bash + something)somehow functional? I mean shield bash would work on everytime Rakan shield Xayah giving her MR, armor + dmg on next attack.. what's your opinion on that? :) thank you for your response

It's probably not bad, but I would imagine Inspiration and Sorcery are both better still.

This is a very good guide. I usually don't play bot lane and only play bot lane when the matching game puts me in bot. I usually choose Xayah as my adc since i'm most familiar with her as an adc and she's actually pretty good. I only play xayah very casually. I have a pretty decent kda with xayah but my winrate is not that high. So to play xayah well, should I play more agressively or passively with xayah? And is there any other tips?

She's a pretty strong laner and also pretty safe after 6 so you have plenty of room to play aggressively, but it depends entirely on the matchup. Read the Matchups chapter for that.
