Do you prefer ignite or exhaust?
1
Jovy (954) | May 6, 2020 8:06am
Ignite for sure, Exhaust is a pretty niche choice. It's useful against certain enemies like Vayne, Jax, Zed and other assassins.

I want to say "looks much better with the new guide view" but I honestly don't remember how it looked before. It's probably better. Good job. :D

Should'nt you include zhonyas for assasins

Jovy (954) | August 4, 2019 4:43am
It's very rare that I buy a Zhonya's (due to the price) but it does happen against particularly fed assassins. Will add it!

Very nice guide. Remember using this way back when it came out! Come a long way, I used to main support. Quick question, however, would you prefer shoes or CDR, that extra CDR on Nami's abilities would be great, especially the ultimate. Should I take resolve at all, and in which matchups?
2
Jovy (954) | May 18, 2019 11:00am
Hi ShockStrikes!

I thought Shoes were fine before but now that they take longer to pop, I'm not sure it's worth it. If you have a bad game and can't get many takedowns, you'll have to wait a really long time to be able to actually become mobile. Whereas the CDR is useful in every game.

I do like Resolve now and again and when you should use it is essentially when you're against big daddies on the enemy team. For example if they have a lot of bruisers, assassins, maybe in a losing match-up like vs Draven and Blitz or against pokers like Zyra and Brand. Though these are champions that'll probably sushify you no matter what. Besides, although you will be tankier and Second Wind/Bone Plating does negate some damage, the biscuits from Inspiration also achieve this and then you don't have to take Resolve if you don't want to. Just be sure to pick up some tanky stats from the stats stuff.

And thank you for the compliment! How come you're not playing support anymore though?

No problem, great guide! It really sucks, the community moved me away from playing support. I kept on getting flamed and baited in lane, this was happening no joke every game. I retaliated and got a 14-day ban. It was just a bad experience. But I love playing Nami and Bard, my favourite supports! If I were to get autofilled support I would play either of those two. For now I have found my lanes in Top and Mid. They are very isolated and I cannot tilt.

Hello, I wanna ask if its better to take inspiration or resolve as a secondary runes. And When it's more effective take inspiration and when resolve when playing nami? Nice guide btw :))
1
Jovy (954) | April 24, 2019 12:33pm
thanks! 🍣 I'd say Inspiration is a better option on the whole. I'd only take Resolve if I thought I'd really need extra tankiness in a particular game. For example, if I'm going up against a high poke bot lane, high burst bot lane or if the enemy team has a lot of assassins.

Thanks for the guide! I enjoyed playing her. Although I would opt for the shoes instead of 5% cdr.

Why do you choose Absolute Focus instead of Transcendence? It gives the same amount of AP + bonus CDR.

Jovy (954) | March 2, 2019 4:24am
I don't like it that Transcendence only kicks in mid game after you've exceeded the CDR cap. I think they're both fine options though. I see that some pro players use one and some use the other.

Well, first I had to look through all your guides to find which one I wanted to discuss. To my dismay, I was scrolling forever through all your guides, trying to find something I disagreed with or thought could be changed etc. It must be hard, having flawless guides xD

But here we are, I think I have a few things to ask (and I had to dig deep to find anything):

1. But why are your pros/cons images? D: (protecc and attacc is cute tho) No opening banner? Nami screenshots of mastery/ranked stats are a little graceless compared to the amazing graphics in your other guides. Have you thought of changing up the guide aesthetics to suit your Bubble Pop title? (I'm thinking Koi Nami and lots of pink eWe) --> Plus, your explanation images are of you playing Rakan, not Nami.

2. Typos in items section -> Ascension and a missing word in the description of it. Speaking of BBCoding, I notice that you sparingly use coding to datalink items/champion abilities. Is there a reason why you don't hardcode more often? (ie: Nami)

3. Stealth Ward info may not necessarily be relevant, but the rest of your warding section is quite a good read.

Cheers,
jhoi

😊

1. When I was coding the guide, I was having a crazy hard time getting the code for the pros and cons to work. I managed one I think, but then the cons didn't allign properly with the pros and yadda yadda. I figured her pros and cons are pretty stagnant so why not just do it in paint or photoshop instead. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't have an opening banner because my old Nami guide didn't either. It was very minimalistic and only had chapter banners with no text on them and all that, and I didn't want to change it too much from sort of its original you know? But there's no reason not to add an opening banner tbh, I might do it if I ever recode it.

Keeping it in line with my previous version I went with the default Nami splash art, and I kept it because I love the colour scheme. SKT is my favourite Nami skin though so if i was going to change it I could do that or Koi. You think I should?

And I didn't change the screenshots because it's a universal thing, it doesn't really matter whether it's Nami or Rakan or nothin.

2. I don't hardcode more often because I don't like the look of the golden text that much and I don't think there's a reason for it and the icons to pop up so much in a block of text. I'll usually only code something once in a paragraph, then if people don't know what it is they'll hover over it and find out. Then if I mention it again a sentence later they shouldn't need to hover it again. As for why not Nami, I think I'll start adding my champions in the intro at least because I always take years to find their champion pages and I never have the links in my guides lul

3. I miss Stealth Wards!

Thanks for the comment jhoijhoi! ♥ I can't +rep you yet sadly :(

Ah, yeah, I noticed it was a little minimalistic compared to your other guides. But seeing as it's the top Nami guide, maybe it needs a little love with some awesome new graphics and Nami-featuring gifs/images of gameplay :D SKT theme sounds great - I haven't seen that skin very often at all, it's gorgeous. Yellow text... could you change the colour of it like you said you used to, but to the theme of your guide? Maybe it'd look sweet ^^

In the cheat sheet, you have two places where you need to pick between two options - should there be some notes there for people just quickly in game to read?
