I wouldn't agree that Equinox is useful only for its silence, have you tried out E max or mix max? It's actually a lot of damage and delightfully difficult to deal with as the enemy. I think 3 pts into E (or full E) then W Max is the way to go.

Yes, equinox does more damage than starcall, but only if you manage to root someone. If not, the damage difference is nearly nothing (5% AP ratio difference between E and Q is forgettable). E max... not if you have spellthief's edge. The cd is too long and you should rely more on your autos to proc tributes; if we take the "heavy poking lanes/I can't poke with Q or I'll explode" situations in consideration it could be a good idea since usually I buy ancient coin instead, I'll try it next time. About W max I already do that in this situations since maxing Q would be counterproductive, maybe I should write it a bit more clearly in the skill description.

The 3-points E actually interests me, do you think a lvl 4-5 E or at some other levels?

what do you mean? It does damage on-hit, not whenever it roots someone. It's very good poke, and you can still use your Q and autos for the Spellthief's proc even if you don't max Q. I think you should give it a try, at least the mix max option which I think is the most viable :) E up to 3 ranks or so then W max. So like Q W E then E E R

It does damage both when it's casted and when it ends (so when it roots), to do more damage than an equal level Q you should hit the enemy both the times. About the spellthief's procs you're right, I don't know what I was thinking in that moment xD

yeah, I didn't think the damage of E would only surpass Q if it hit both times (are you sure about that?), it always feels like a lot of damage to me; plus E feels safer because they can't reciprocate due to the silence and also because the range is longer than Q's. Lookin' forward to seein what you think about it after a game or two!

And I'm back after a long time, better late than never I guess D:
So, I tried what you said (both E max and E partial max) and here's my conclusion: unfortunately I don't like that much E max, I feel I lose too much power on other skills and that I can't be too useful in the early stages of the game; on the other hand, I like a lot the partial max, since I can have earlier during fights while maintaining a good amount of power in or
I'll change the skill order asap, ty :D

Yup, 100% sure, I was always double-checking the tooltip if it was right when I was writing the comment xD
It was a surprise to me the first time too, both Q and E have the same damage (excluding the AP ratios, that are 35% and 40% respectively): 70/110/150/190/230 (+70/110/150/190/230 when E roots) magic damage.

Yeah, I can understand your point and I agree to a certain degree since the enemy can still get out of your E and eat your hp with a couple of autos; for me soraka's silence is... not very reliable (saying it's completely unreliable is a bit of an exaggeration for me), at least comparing it to the other silences in the game, but still it does a good job since a well placed E can change the course of the lane.

I happened to notice that your synergy section only contains five champions. But I'm guessing you're probably already working on it.

Hey Wicked, thank you for your kind words! :D
Actually if you read the descriptions of the synergies I preferred to go with groups of ADC (like utility ADC, poke ADC etc.) instead of writing down every description, just to have a general idea of what you should look for when picking soraka!
Maybe in the future I'll add every description, but for now I think it's good like this :^
