I don't think you really need to dedicate a second set or runes to tell us to take MR against AP champs. Could probably put that in the notes "if they deal physical damage, take armor, if magic, take MR, obviously." But I don't think a lot of AD mids have much for CC, so additionally maybe unless against a heavy CC team, it seems like it'd be better to take either Alacrity or Bloodline.

As a Irelia main myself, with 2 Millions mastery points on her in D2 Elo. I just got to point out a few things:

* Consider getting another point in W Earlier, because your W will make it easier to make backline minions lower and meleee minions, mnake it so that you can Q the entire waves easier and make the plays you want.

* Bloodline is extremely strong on her, due to her Q, and on hit on Q, you will heal yourself so much in fights, especially if you can stack up on minions.

Precence of mind can be taken over triumph if you want the infinite mana, there has been so many times when you go triumph after a kill and you cant kill the minion wave in seconds due to you have triumph. also precence is better when you dont go trinity force. if you go the anti tank build (bork, black cleaver, sterak) you run oom so fast.

* aslo, I know tiamat is strong on her, but you should not rush for it, it makes irelia unable to freeze/zone which she is extremely good at, thus putting away your lead. tiamat can ber picked up anytime later. i just dont like it in laning phase because it ruins your wave management.

* against ap heavy teams or against fed AP champions, you should include hexdrinker, its actually a ok item on irelia, Wits End exist, but it does not hurt to build both in some situations.

* midlane guide Irelia, you should add summoner spell exaust against Zed and katarina/fizz. its just alot better than ignite, you also get alot of sticking power that ignite does not provide, also the exaust against zed, you can rush core items instead of buying **** ton of armor early.

It is just my guide, my playstyle on Irelia, i am not saying that those things are not working on irelia but i am used to play this one, if you are pointing it because it says gold on the top of that guide, its just random account i add :D gl in the next games!

Hello, thank you for your opinion, i also have about 2 mil points on irelia!)

* I do not agree with W point in MY build/guide/play, maybe its working for you, but everybody has different playstyle on irelia, you can kill backline minions after cutlass and 1 point W.

* About presence of mind, there is numerous times when triumph is gonna save you - turret diving and ignoring turret shot with W or great teamfights, teamkill after ignite, i just do not prefer pressence of mind i am not saying its not working but triumph is life saver for irelia

* I do not agree with tiamat at all, even not in late game, it has no synergy with irelia and there are better items for her which are working with your runes

* i feel like there is no ap champion which will be fed and you will be not able to kill him with irelia with wits end/botrk combo, you basically can heal and aa over and over

* and i agree with that, i am using exhaust also but i forgot to add it, thank you, core items in this meta for irelia are botrk and wits end for me, irelia do not need triforce or bc anymore in the early game

Hi simplepoetry, just looked over your guide and I have a question on itemization for Irelia. After the buffs to BORK in 10.5 is it viable to build BORK before Triforce on her? If so when would you build BORK first. Thank you for the good guide, it's gonna help me out a lot in ranked games!

Helo man, i think triforce is still core item, which you need to build first, you are dealing damage mainly with basic attacks and Qs, imagine the fight in early or in the middle of the game, champions are not that tanky, and with trinity, you have better mobility, sheen damage and attack speed and it will help you on lane because irelia is many stronger with sheen than tiamat. Botrk is the second best item, and thank you very much, good luck!

Hi simplepoetry! Thank you for a great guide! Umm I have a question if you don't mind: How do I teamfight as Irelia? I get stomped even with steraks and titanic hydra.. Especially if their are burst mages and assassins who kill me instantly.. How do I do good please help.. Thank you

Bro this is very good question and i think even riot can't answer you, Irelia is nerfed to death and she is unable to carry teamfights or whole game. You need to have team, thats why Irelia has 43% winrate what is totally pathetic.

But what i am always trying to do, is to jump on champions in the back, adc for example, and i am trying to zone him or kill him and run. But.. Irelia is not good in teamfights anymore and when your team has no idea how to play with her you have no chance to carry the game even if you have 4k+ gold lead.

Just wondering, why no tiamat? It's very good for irelia, especially allowing more minions to be lower from the AOE of tiamat so you can Q more and have some gap closer against mid laners. Also why is it that you get armor second, and health third? For me I usually go adaptive and armor because I want to dominate early game asap, with the health scaling can't do much.
Not bad guide though! Never tried Sanguine Blade, gonna test it out someday

You get tiamat so you can have other minions around lower, which allows you to have many plays potential with your q reset like instead of auto attack every minion for the right amount for the auto q reset. also helps proc conqueror faster with the active item.

Personally i do not like that hydras are doing AoE damage to my minions because i am used to pre hit minions one lane or just W + Q to minions, yeah i know that conqueror procing faster thats good thing but i have better lane management without AoE damage)

There are people which do not like playing with tiamat, i do not like fact that my minions are getting lower on hp and i can kill my minions with AoE damage and i will be unable to jump on them, this build is only about getting ahaed of midlaner from the start and be able to do something in late, because offtanky irelia with tiamat is not dealing damage and she is not even tanky but with this build you are dealing massive damage and you have heavy sustain in late game, you can push turrets faster with 2,5 attackspeed, you can solo baron, dragons, you are doing objectives and 15hp from rune saved me XY times from the start, you can try it

yeh sanguine gives lots of attack speed especially late game. I will try the 15 hp rune, idk yet but Imma need to do some more research of whether it's 15 hp rune or the double armor. But also do you ever go adaptive? because I still think adaptive and armor is still good, but I'll need to do more research

That 15hp rune is only and only for first bloods because i am always diving on level 2 and it saved me lot of times, yeah adaptive is also good but i am used just to play with these runes)
