Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone and I wish you all the best in the future!

I will tell you my dream Christmas gift when I was little boy:

When I was a kid below 10 years old, I was huge fan of building LEGO toys. I was so addicted with them and I couldn't stop thinking about them. For a Christmas, I wish to had huge Lego building toy for a gift to play with (forgot how it looks but it doesn't matter). Before Christmas, my dad and I wento to the shop to buy some food and supplies for Christmas. Then, I saw a Santa Claus and I was kinda shy and bit of scared to sit on his legs but I have managed. Then, Santa Claus asked me: "What do you wish for Christmas?" Then I said: "I wish a large good looking LEGO building toy because I love building LEGO-s so much. Then he said: "Since you are such a cute and good boy, your wish will be granted! I was so happy and smiled like never before as a young kid. One day before Christmas, me and my family builded a very good looking Christmas tree and I said to my mom: "Santa Claus will give me a LEGO building toy to play with as a gift! Mom was surprised and hopes that I will get it. Once it's Christmas and I woke up, I saw a very good looking large LEGO building box and I was so happy. I couldn't explain how I was happy! My parents was so surprised that my wish has been granted and they are so happy to see me very happy. I have managed to build LEGO and oh my gosh, it's very big and I placed it near my other LEGO buildings as collecting. I couldnt' even imagine how many LEGO toys I have!

And today, I have some LEGO toys in my home but some of them have broke but it doesn't matter. I am still fan of LEGO toys, I don't know why but I just love them. That is my story how I got my wonderful toy as a Christmas gift. :)

@ Karinutsa:
Here we go taking a trip down memory lane. This event is awesome!

Christmas story
When I was around 11 years old, my uncle gifted me a Santa costume. I remember I was dressing up once a week in January and pretending I was Santa, gifting my parents some of my small plushies. The Santa beard was the best part, I would even brush it before putting it on every time.

Last year I baked these butter cookies with my mom. It was such a fun bonding time!

Christmas movie
The Elf movie from 2003 is in my top favourite Christmas movies. It is funny and heartbreaking and then joyful - just the perfect mix.

Christmas gift
This is probably the first year ever when I just feel I have everyting I want and I am so grateful for everything. Definitely Santa will not accept to not bring me a gift, but he can be sure I would be happy with any present he will send me.

This is the smallest, but I also hope the most adorable fake Christmas tree you will see today.

P.S.: Prepare for trouble and make it double!!! If you just love Christmas trees, have a look at my natural one (themed red-yellow) https://imgur.com/a/***LpZ0 AND with the lights on too https://imgur.com/a/uQSI8pr.
And I also have another fake tree (themed blue-white), with which I entered this event last year, but I believe I decorated it better this year https://imgur.com/a/QC0i9hA.

Merry Christmas everyone!

@ N.I.:
A fond Christmas memory I have is toasting marshmallows over a warm glowing heater with family at Grandpa’s house.
Having a real fireplace isn’t practical for any of us, but Grandpa had this old electric bar heater that he’d setup for Christmas and we would sit around its warm glow with our hot chocolate drinks and toast marshmallows over it.
To us, it was better than the real thing.
Good times.

Merry Christmas everyone!

My ideal Christmas food combo is a combination of 2 popular Romanian holiday dishes.
Sarmale (grandma's recipe) and Boeuf Salad (mom's recipe).
I've tried different variations of these 2 foods from many people. But they just can't beat my mom and grandma. At least that's what my taste buds say xD

I don't have pictures of their own creations since they didn't make them yet this year, but I'll share some pics from the internet.

Sarmale: https://imgur.com/a/2VpPppQ (minced pork and/or chicken rolled in pickled cabbage, served with sour cream on top and next to them bread or mamaliga)
Boeuf Salad: https://imgur.com/a/plGhrLi (a salad with boiled meat, any meat really, vegetables like potatoes, carrots, pickles, celery, onion and peas, all of them drowned in home-made mayo and usually decorated on top with bell pepper, black olives, parsley and boiled eggs. but my mom doesn't do that part so it's the same in the pic xD)

If you guys are interested in making food from foreign cuisines, I really recommend these 2!

@ GG Cannon:
My favorite Christmas food has got definitely to be the "French Toast", or as we call it in Portuguese, "Rabanada"!
I don't know how it is around the world, but in Brasil, it is very common to eat french toast almost only on Christmas and always only made with baguette bread and then cover everything in sugar and cinnamon.

It is absolutely delicious the very moment it is done, eating until I blow up on Christmas, but its best trait isn't on the day itself, but after Christmas, when you leave it overnight to eat for breakfast on the following days.

Depending on how many were made, I can eat it all the way to new years eve and it makes my year start all that much more pleasurable.
I'm drooling just by thinking about it.

@ TheBlueImperial:
Tell us about your favourite Christmas food or dessert:
I mean it's not specifically a "Christmas dessert", but we do it every Christmas as our own tradition. Apple Crumble, I would throw hands with anybody for the one my Nan makes, it just doesn't compare to any other Apple Crumble anyone else makes or you can buy.

Share a fun Christmas story:
As some of you may know from the Discord, I've recently started a new job and I made Christmas cards with some personalised messages in them all. Never done it before and didn't expect very much from it, ended up making multiple happy cry and got a lot of hugs. That's always been my favourite part about Christmas (Not making people cry), all of the little memories and interactions you have with friends and family... well that and the food.

Share your favourite Christmas movie:
It just isn't Christmas if we haven't watched The Grinch at least 10 times, it's just one of those movies I can't get bored of.

@ Amberdragon:
Merry Christmas (or whatever else you celebrate)!

I wanted to talk about my favorite Christmas food because it is one of the main things I look forward to every year.

My mom makes the best cod pie in the whole world. I don't know how it is overseas, but where I live cod is a big part of Christmas and a lot of stuff can be done with it. There's also chicken (turkey is not that common for low-mid class citzens) and ham, but my favorite has always been the cod pie.

And I'm not sure what my mom does but hers is the best cod pie I've ever eaten. I remember she has already shared her recipe with other family members but no one has managed to make one as good as hers.

Sadly I don't know the recipe myself (yet) to share with you guys, but I plan to change that. I am currently 3 months pregnant and while I was thinking about how I would spend my holidays I had a thought cross my mind - I wanted my child to enjoy my food as much as I love my mother's food. She's such a good cook and it's not like she studied for it or anything.

I cook alright but thinking about my future child made me want to not be so lazy and get better at it. I know one day my mother won't be able to cook every Christmas and new year, so I wanted to keep her legacy alive, for it is one of the things that brought me my most cherished memories.

This Saturday I'll go over her house and ask her to teach me, and I hope to one day be able to do a pie as good as hers. I do have plans to immigrate out of the country and when that happens I may not be able to spend Christmas close to my parents, but I hope to still have a taste of home and my childhood with me even if I'm many miles away from home.

I don't have a picture of her pie but it looks pretty much the same as the picture attached. It looks simple but it tastes absolutely amazing!

@ Aireszita:
My favourite (or better said... one of my many favourites!) Christmas food has to be homemade cookies. Every year my mom, my little brother and I always bake a batch of cookies for our Christmas family dinner (I mean, they're supposed to last until dinner, but sometimes they won't...Oops!), and some more to give away to other family members who don't dine with us on Christmas' Eve.
These are mostly basic cookies, that we sprinkle with sugar powder and cinnamon.
What makes them so special is the fun we have while making them! It's one of our favourite family activities during these holiday times. Making the cookies in every shape and form we can think of is fun, even if we don't have the cookie cutters for them, we'll manage to make them into some funny shape - be it an animal, a Christmas symbol, or whatever! My personal favourite are the ones we bake shaped like tiny cinnamon rolls!

I've included a picture of the cookies we made last year, since this year we had to postpone the activity to New Years Eve due to how busy my mom and I were during the last week. ^^ At least we got to make some "rabanadas", which are another dessert I truly love!

Finally, I hope everyone is having a merry Christmas, and I'm wishing you all a happy new year! ❤️

@ Hazardist:
I'm gonna share some of the traditions that we tend to follow here every Christmas in my part of the world. So it is elementary that the Christmas food is never missing, especially on the night of the 24th when we all gather in family to have it together: hallacas, sweet bread with smoked ham and chicken salad, it's always my favorite.

Additionally, most homes build a nativity (be it small or semi-large) to place close to the Christmas tree which represents the birth of Jesus and is uveiled at 12:00 AM on December 25th. It's also when kids receive their presents from Santa.

And these tend to be reserved for New Year's Eve but it's also normal to find people on the streets with suitcases packed with clothes going around, as a way to manifest travels and growth in the coming year; and also we put 12 grapes in a glass on champagne to drink when the clock strikes 12:00 and the new year has officially begun!

Merry Christmas to all of you reading this!

@ Waiffu Sensei:
I would not say that's a fun story but I wanted to share how this Christmas was going for me this year.
Last year I left my home to study in college. And it appeared that the most affected was my parents who were now alone.
When I came back for holidays three days ago I discovered that they didn't even did a xmas tree at all.
So I took to heart to joyed up the house for them this year.
So my father and I decorated all the house together to surprise my mom. Today we brought gift for my mother and the family and I actually can't wait tomorrow...

That's all for me but don't forget that this time of the year is supposed to be a great one so don't forget to enjoy and merry Christmas !

@ apollov:
Hello Mobafire! Today I would like to share my Christmas Traditions and experiences. My Favourite Christmas movie has to be Home Alone. Home Alone is a unique, wonderful movie that shows a childish character who was left behind on holiday and had to fend of his home from intruders. I love this movie so much as it is very funny, when I was a child I loved watching grown men get outsmarted by a kid my age. My favourite idea from the movie was about how a child outsmarted people 3 times his age whilst still being childish and having fun. For example how he put glue on the guy and covered him with feathers using a fan! He also put toy cars all across the floor and laughed at them as they fell. The sequel was also good (I still prefer the first movie) as it shows how a child uses what is seemingly infinite money in New York City. The sequel still has the same concept but in a different environment under different circumstances. The Home Alone series was so great and definitely my favourite Christmas series of all! I would also like to share my favourite Christmas song Last Christmas by Wham! This song has so much nostalgia to me and takes me back to when I was a child unwrapping presents with my family. When I listen to this song I feel both happy and sad, happy due to the music and nostalgia but sad due to the lyrics explaining a past relationship which is very relatable to me. I would post my Christmas Tree but I am on holiday, It was a large tree around 7ft on height, it was decorated with flowers which were white and blue as well as birds like doves and peacocks which matched the flowers. It looks wonderful in person and I am sad I cant post it. But I would also like to share my country’s traditions. I live in Australia where it is common to gather with the whole family including grandparents and cousins and eat seafood and barbecue, we then often go to the beach for the holidays to celebrate. If you have read this far I would like to say thank you for sticking around and taking the time to read my post, I have shared my experience on Christmas and goodbye!

@ Tauricus2017:
Marry Christian everyone <3

One of my favorite Christmas movies is Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone. I know it may come as a little... off for some of you. After all, what does it have to do with Christmas? And truth be told quite a lot. The best thing about HP is that almost EVERYONE loves it. So it always makes my entire family gather around to watch it together. A movie that can instantly make a whole family unite? That's Christmas magic if ever I saw one!

But even the movie itself is very Christmas-themed. The scene where Harry and Ron were unpacking their presents by the fireplace is just so sweet and cozy. Makes me smile every time. And when the movie reaches the winter stage of the year and you can see snow falling in almost every scene, covering the magical school in a thick layer of pure white... It always reminds me of how glad I am not having to suffer in such harsh cold, and that I can just be at home with a hot tea/coffee under a very warm and cozy blanket :D

I don't doubt every single person reading this has already seen the movie - so I emphasize rewatching it, but not for the fantasy elements it offers - but for the Christmas magic it brings <3

@ ExplodionOfCharm:
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

I'm the kind of guy who is a pain to give gifts to, mostly cuz I don't even know what I want myself and every time I get asked what can people gift me they always get the same "Whatever you like is okay, I don't really mind" so they get annoyed and give me money instead (with valid reason, I'm the worst kind of person to buy something for)

Now years passed by and my friends and I were talking about what we could give to each other when we realized this may be one of the last Christmas we were going to spend together. Many of us are invested in finishing our studies some time next year and a few of my friends are planning to move away to other countries once that happens. We came to the conclusion that we were hanging out together since middle school, playing LoL during the afternoons and nights and seeing each other every weekend but now due to adult life taking over we are lucky to find a moment when most of us can arrange to see each other for a few hours on a Saturday.

So with that realization over the table we decided that the best thing we could give to each other is the time to enjoy thesev lasts months of us being together before the inevitable happens, therefore we committed to finding time in our schedules to meet at least a twice a month, making special dates like birthdays relevant and avoid acting like we would always have the time to do what we been postponing (we will also gift each other some little things, we aren't that stingy haha).

So I guess that's what I would consider this Xmas special gift and I hope that if someone reads this, this message makes them value a bit more the time with people we take for granted in our lives. Even tho we know we will keep in contact regardless of the distances, clearly things always change and be different but that's what life is about.

So, again.... have happy holidays and enjoy them with your loved ones as much as you can. Best wishes for you all!

@ chrisk_a7:
My 8-year-old son, Lukas, had heard some rumours at school that Santa wasn’t real. He approached me with a big question: “Dad, tell me the truth. Is Santa real?” I decided to tell him it was us who had bought his latest PS4 console.

“Really?” he said. “You should have let Santa bring it. That way, it would have been free.”

kids nowadays :D

@ Dustyacer:
So my family is Chinese Canadian, and my parents are kind of clueless people. When i was young, I asked my mom if Santa was real, she literally straight up said "no" i think i was around age 4/5. Because I was an annoying kid, i would tell other kids that Santa wasn't real either (but i was super shy, so "other kids" is a very limited group).

Idk some years later, when i woke up, my dad was dressed as Santa for some reason. I'm not totally sure, but he seemed convinced to make me believe he was Santa or whatever. I know he knows I'm not an idiot (like my dad is a asian old man with a very distinct look...), so I have no idea why he was committed to being Santa for so long.

I guess i'll add a bonus, my real name is Kevin, so it was interesting watching the Home Alone movies. But, to be honest, I think I've only seen two or one (none at home, but at school or something).

@ UwUSoftGirl:
My dream christmas gift...

I would love to get a ticket to the Maldives.

The beaches there are just oh so pretty and the water is see-through clear. Living in one of those houses on the bridge and having your own ladder straight to the sea water is such a dream I just can't I really want to go there. Even in December the temperature there is still 27°C, so it's still very hot. I would love to go to a warm country for christmas, it'd be a nice change from the ever freezing temperatures. ⛄
