The highlighted game is one where I went 0/6/15 as Amumu. Looks ****py, but I was basically the anchor - initiating fights, ulting people in place, and the result was an Urgot who went something like 15/4 and won us the game.
But yes, score isn't always the most definitive thing - a person with 15 more CS than another person has basically caught up a kill and is probably up experience if the other person left to gank.

Doesn't look as ****py as my loss. That 0/10/10 looks kinda ****py tho ;P
I remember a match where I went 0/8/10 something with Shen. My teammates complained a lot about me feeding. But the problem was actually them acting like cowards and running away every time I landed a 3ppl taunt and tanked them for a while.. They didn't do **** while I tanked >.>
And that's why I don't like tanking in soloQ anymore.

Heh, that was probably my worst Amumu game since pre level 30. 5 man premade with Boosh, Mowen, Strategize, and Vulk. We were probably against another 5 man premade, judging from their organization. Anyway, their Nasus was a really good farmer and we just couldn't take them down - he did too much damage to be ignored, but was too bulky to focus down. Also Vulk lagged like hell for the first 20 minutes >.>
But yeah, one of my off games, which is why I played DenyPlank the next game and CARRIED THE TEAM :D
although boosh's rammus is really good

So, Ranked solo queue = luck
Therefore the higher ELO doesn't necessarily mean you're better, just luckier in the sense of you had better team-mates throughout the whole game...
Wrong. There is about a 5-10% luck factor in ELO rating given you have played enough games for your ELO to even be factored in. You become a higher ELO player largely by being better skilled than the people in your ELO. Why does bigfatjiji have 2 smurfs over 2000 ELO? Because he's that good. Another reason is your positioning and overall game sense. Knowing when you are gonna get ganked, warding, etc... matters alot too. Moving from 1200s to 1500s you start to see more and more of the map, warding is huge. Anyway if you're good enough you should be able to carry way out of hell.
tL;DR Luck is a very small factor in ELO calculating.
@sears with your 160 cs you should've had a better build to allow yourself to carry your '****ty' teammates. Sheen and Black Cleaver would've been better choices. Other than that, seems like a normal 'unlucky' game
I agree - skilled players will make many little adjustments that win them games.
On Solomid, Reginald has a new video where he plays as Corki and makes a lot of really small adjustments that just snowball on themselves - farming like crazy, grabbing wraiths repeatedly, standing just barely out of range of Amumu's ult in team fights, etc. It shows the difference between a seasoned, high-ELO player and the typical 1200 solo queuer.
Good players will be able to carry themselves out of "ELO hell".

The thing most players neglect is how big an impact CS has on your game. Someone with 1/2/4 could be insanely fed just because he's been farming like a *****.
True that, a carry that doesn't necessary have a great kd/r throughout the game but having 250 minions farms at the 30 minute mark can still be carrying.

I dunno.. I usually build black cleaver later on. Besides; I never fought an enemy 1v1. They always grouped up and the one fight we almost won was lost anyway because both Akali and Shaco didn't commit. I don't think BC would have made a difference.

Yea, I'm just a little bitter about the loss :(
I'm confidient that I'll land in 1400-1500 elo sooner or later.

K/D/A means nothing to me, i had few games with score 0/10/sth and still won (if you think that's bad, you should have seen my veigar 0/20 or trista 0/16 xD)
What I want to say, score isn't so important, i faced many oponents who were fed (not only 1 person, the whole team was fed) and they still lost. You ask why, probably because they didn't have leader on their team, they just wanted to get kills/farm and they didn't care about turrets.

Edit: or rather around 20% luck after getting over the loss XD
