with 4 damaging spells... (or even 5 with ignite or 6 if you count voidling) he is extremaly potent on lane... why would you even consider jungling. Getting blue buff, ok but right after go to lane!
Its interesting you mention this... cause apparently karthus is a jungle beast :P... but yeh Malzahar can jungle.. his ganking is a bit weak.. but it can work!

Lol this just in, Jungle Malzahar is extremely hard with the semi recent buffs to Jungle Mobs lol

Ok, i see alot of these 'Can so and so Jungle?' threads. Im all for crazy ideas, but Im tired of them. Some champs just rock in lane. Morde and Mal are some of the best. There are some champs that are better for jungle. WW and Udyr are the best. That said, lets not continue to make these jungle threads. At least dont make them untill you have proof of effectiveness. Just like my crafting, perfect it before you make a thread about it.

I was told today by a buddy that you spam W at pool until you can get voidling. Go to blue and have voidling tank it for you then do a normal jungle route.
