Maybe instead of ignoring critical strikes, it could take 20% reduced damage from them? or even a bit higher % of reduction against them or something. Just my 2 cents.

What if instead you made it so that the passive was: user takes 20% less damage from critical strikes and when they get to 15% health they get a 15% chance to resist critical strikes?
It will still give you ability to resist crit without completely shutting down crit champs.

Yeah, that would probably me more balanced.
I dunno how the exact effect should be, but I think that there is a need for something to resist Trynda in late game.
An example from the other day:
I play a ranked match with a friend and we lead 69 kills to 42 and we have taken down most turrets. However, we aren't able to finish and therefore we Trynda gets full build. I play tank Jarvan with Sunfire, Randuins & thornmail, and he was still able to kill me in like 5 seconds x)
Though I had a score on 16-6-33 and he had 11-11-11 :p

I think they should make Tryn rage-based like Renekton, that would make him more balanced. Tryn is easy to shut down with CC early game, but if he gets fed it's game over.

I don't think it's fair for an item to be a 100 % counter against one Champion. Since Pantheon's passive thingy on his Heartseeker Strike(I believe) is also activated at 15 % you just created a never ending cycle:
