to prevent HTML injection, most forums strip out the HTML tags themselves (only proper HTML tags)... using stuff like < blablabla > wouldn't do anything cause it's not a valid HTML tag.

Yes i'm aware it's not behaving like that. That's why I said that most BB boards usually only strip valid html tags (shouldn't remove the blablabla one) :P
