After seeing this build and reading the overwhelming positive response, I was forced to make an account so I could comment.
I main Nidalee and have around 400 games with her. I know her ins and outs and have tried several rune set ups, including armor pen.
Everyone that plays Nidalee knows that there is no better item sequence than Boot->Sheen->Finish Boot->Rageblade->Whathaveyou or some small variation, maybe an armor or MR item mixed in, especially Spirit Visage.
We also know that 0/9/21 is essentially required and any other mastery layout is inferior. So 75% of your guide is regurgitation of the obvious.
The subtleties of Nidalee arise in her rune layout. To put it bluntly, your recommendations are horrible. Let me dissect.
Armor Pen -> What is this good for? Well, you do more damage to creeps. Its easier to last hit. Also, your Q in cougar form hits harder. That's it. Nothing else scales with AD. So you are essentially telling us to use our reds and quints to last hit easier. Better alternatives are magic pen (because every single one of her other abilities is magic...), ability power (for better early game heals/spear damage). Learn to last hit and you won't have to gimp yourself with armor pen.
Dodge -> You use your yellows to gain some dodge chance...one out of less than ten auto attacks. I initially built Nidalee using dodge yellows after looking at a highly rated guide. This seemed like a great choice because "OMG it goes so well with Nimbleness!!1." Well, that's dumb. Nidalee already has +dodge% in cougar form, and even more if you are lucky enough to be able to buy Ninja Tabi over Merc Treads. Instead of dodge%, please try mana per 5/level yellows. You lose a few dodge% and gain insane mana regen. Lets compare. Would I rather dodge less than 1 in 10 auto attacks, or have enough mana regen to guarantee myself a heal whenever I need it? Easy choice. I bet you struggle with mana conservation and rarely throw a spear early game because it kills your mana bar. Switch to mp5/level yellows and this will go away.
Cooldown Reduction-> This is good. The more CDR the merrier.
Quintessences-> Again, why would you waste your most powerful runes on a stat that helps you last hit easier/makes 1 ability hit harder. Nidalee relies on survival. She has arguably the best escapability/survivability for her role in the game. She needs the most HP she can obtain. There is NO alternative to HP quints unless you are experimenting with two HP quints and a different third quint, or are trying to build her for pure magic pen, which is a fun build as well. Your early game survivability is key...if you die before 6 you are incredibly gimped. Don't let this happen...bring HP.
If you think you are getting good scores using this guide, make a few rune changes and watch your KDR go through the roof.
That is your opinion as ur entitled to my friend!
But no matter how many games uve played wit her, ive played nearly 800with her all in all, and my build is built up my discussing tips and tricks with whats is ment to be the best nidalee player in the world, namingly HotShotGG, and if that man can vouch for my build to be working as intended and written, then what ur build revolves arround doesnt concern me im afraid.
oh and ur theorycrafting arround nida with armor pen beeing useless, i hope u reconsider that and go over ur theorycrafting again, im not gonna mention it but someone allready did, and the results speaks for themself!
anyhow build will not be updated as i dont have time to do so!
Thank you everyone for the great feedback, and the constructive criticism :)
Sheep out!
Especially for this build, you need the survivability. I think Arpen quints is, in fact, a waste though, and health may be better, to the same tune as mentioned before.
I haven't read the build in a while, so I apologize if this is in any way irrelevant. I just disagreed hugely with SpaceProphet, despite his tone sounding quite superior. Your runes are fine.

I personally agree (strongly) with Heat's recommendations, but this build does work too. Good stuff.
The positive feedback makes me cry abit inside<3
Aegis is a item you get if you feel like its needed, games usually end before i even get to think about it!
Merc threads is a must whatever you say my friend, ur a support and just the second u get some CC on you can make u go down like a mademan just hit u with a club..
So i always use them<3
keep the feedback comming!
Makes me a happy puppy!

16/1/12 first game, since a while without playing her.
i also miss the aegis :( but ye
+1 indeed
Since as a Nidalee you should not get caught off guard, thus not being CC, boots of swiftness would appear to me more appealing, just a thought though, I don't own Nidalee yet, but this guide really made me want to master her.
