I'm not afraid to vote, but I'm not going to get anything from it so why should I do it?
Are you afraid to cut yourself? Probably not, yet you still won't do it cause you get nothing from it.
If I'm going to vote on a guide it's to help them, not me, why should I do that if I might get DVed?
Until the voting system gets fixed I'll refrain from commenting when DVing. There's no incentive for me to do so, the current system actually gives people an incentive to not comment.
I'm not scared, but there's simply no reason for me to comment.
And everyone should care about their guide's scores. If I'm going to spend a whole day writing a guide then you can be sure I want it to have a good rating.

Caring about the guide score is one thing but I think the problem (and what he may be referring to) is that there are some people who ONLY care about the score of their guide.

Think about it.
A lot of people have your mindset. If everyone has your mindset, then all you will get will be trolls...if you constantly got -1s without comments, doesn't that kind of annoy you?
Now, you may think, "Hey, I'm only one person, so what if I don't comment." Well, if everyone thinks that way, it adds up. Same with everything in the world. Pollution, standing against what you think is wrong, if a lot of people change their "I'm only one person" mindset then it makes a difference.
TL;DR, if people like you don't do what you do, it would make the community better. You want people to help you, right? So, what makes you think they wouldn't want you to help them?

Personally... something I do that on a similar note to what Wrath is talking about is I, in general, don't vote on guides period unless I really like them. However I will comment and discuss what I may have not liked with a person's guide, or give some tips to what I would like to see.
The reason I do that is because I personally feel that the offering of the advice/tips/suggestions with no vote (or the promise to +1 if I see improvement) is much more beneficial than a drive-by negative vote. But again... that is me.
However I am also someone who has openly upvoted some of my "competition" and have even linked their guides inside of mine in the hopes that whatever the reader may be looking for will be found, even if it is not in what I wrote.
I am just an odd creature I guess.

With the whole angry rage revenge downvotes, I feel like everyone should have the same mindset as I do.
My guides are my guides. I have put a lot of work in there. If you +1, thanks. Any advice? If you -1, it's your opinion and I respect that. Do you have any advice to give me? If you're just 'trolling' and just -1'ing for the lols, aww, I'm sad you made that decision. If you honestly -1 and gave some real advice, I commend you for speaking your mind.
