Plan the work, Work the plan.

The game starts with the team layout. Plan what lanes you're going to go, who's the jungler (if any), etc

I have seen people arguing for a specific lane so much time that the other team was already with 10-15 kills ahead and 2-3 turrets down when the argument was over.

Oh... and another one > I would suggest to play against bots your first game with a new champion. It's so annoying to read "oh sorry, it's my first game with xxxxx... my apologies for ruining your game' (does this mean that your time is more important than mine??)

Bot Games are useless. Honestly. Bots have mental issues.

Try out champions in normals.

IF YOU ARE ASHE LANING AGAINST A CHAMPION WITH BURST FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT OVEREXTEND.

That is all for now.

******* terrible ashes ruining my ranked games.

Thanks to The Nameless Bard and Vavena for the sigs!

I recently started play LoL and fell in love with it (Level 22 with 89 wins currently on a 12 Win streak) and the couple things I would say are these.

1) Know who your playing against. Just cause your Ranged DPS doesn't mean you can't afford a little armor. Know which items give you armor and don't mess your build up. If you see 3 spell casters you should always stack resist somehow. If not your going to get super burned.

2) Don't chase - Hell have the time when someone is half life and running I don't bother regardless if people are yelling at me. There is no point. A couple of things will happen - they will run to team mates, run to a turret, or run to a turret and you get ganked by a team. Its just not worth it.

3) Take time to level. Even if you don't know your build, don't know everything about your hero, or any other number of things - if you are 4-5 levels ahead of your enemy your going to have an advantage and this creates openings. There were 2 games specifically I can remember where this happened. In one we had a deserter and the one guy got pissed off - I told him we are fine we still have all our towers, just take minons and don't fight unless we are both there - we won in a SURRENDER cause we were about 5 levels ahead. In another game, I had a great opening (about 4 kills by the first 6 minutes) and my team D/C. I calmed down, sat back, took time to level and held them off for a good 15 minutes cause I was always out leveling them. By the time my team came back - I was still waaay ahead and we won with 10+ kills over the other team.

4) Don't forget to hit dragon/Baron. Even if you don't need it, if the other team takes it, it can spell disaster for you. Stay with it, hell even gank them as they are fighting it. But don't let them capitalize on it.

5) Your hero is a hero... you are not. If your out shining everyone on your team, over extending, and always alone - IT will kick your ***. You become a target (and as a result, you team mates are helpless cause they never got gold/exp). AND when they get you down late game - your team mates can't defend against the team now. It will sound very dumb, but seriously, sometimes let someone else get a kill. If your team mates behind and coming to help you, let them have some kills. I am not saying, by any means let the guy get away - hell if he is getting away smoke him. But if its 2v1 and clearly they have the fight - let them take it. KS only causes arguments.

6) Communication. Tell Mia's, tell people where your going, what you are doing. I play rumble.... alot - his cooldown is about a minute on a ulti. If we are sitting waiting for people to jump out of their home, I just quickly tell people "20 sec to ulti" - Usually - we can time is so they dive in (tank), and CC them and I drop Equalizer on them - easy 2 kill. Its not my teams job to know what I am doing, where I am, where my Ulti is. Its your job to tell them.

Hope these help.

pretty helpful comment above ^
i hate it when people buy items with an active and don't use them!.. same with health/manapots and wards that are bought but not used..

and the biggest mistake in my eyes is not communicating or not willing to play as a team.. it still is a teamgame:)

BUY PINK WARDS WHEN AGAINST ROAMING EVELYN OR TWITCH

I seriously can't stress this enough. I spent over 1000 gold a few games ago, begging my team to help buy some wards, and none of them did. As a poor shaco, I naturally didn't do too great, 4/7/12.

Katarina, however, who was laning with me managed to do even worse, going 6/19/0. Yes, 0 assists.

I just don't understand, why won't people buy wards. It's not like 1 or 2 is that expensive.. And it ends up making you money when against eve.

I almost forgot to mention, their eve got over 21 kills and had one death.

I make sigs, PM me if you want one :D (Thanks for the Nidalee sig, The_Nameless_Bard!)

That's not entirely true. Co-op games can help you refine some of the finer things of your champs. Like with Anivia or Amumu, flash grabs or flash flash frosts. There are really a lot of different things you really have to work on and bot matches are perfectly fine for that. For testing concepts though, not so much.
