Obviously, you didn't really watch the PS3 or Nintendo conferences.
I did not but just look at the games nowadays... graphics > gameplay/story/inovation in most situations... i'm not saying there ain't exceptions to this
I'm mainly an jRPG & Strategy Game fan and it's been quite a while since I last saw a good/fun RPG (and even more time since I saw a good Strategy Game)...
- Demon's Soul was good in it's own way (amazing game but also terribly frustrating)
- Disgaea 3 is Disgaea... doesn't bring anything new but it's always amazing
- Valk Chronicles was surprisingly innovative imho
EDIT: and you busted me there with that question... kinda tricky to answer xD

Microsoft is trying too hard now. It's all about "Hey look! We got cool stuff now" instead of "Hey! We have fun games!".
Unfortunately most companies are going that way...
