Many carries have no trouble escaping the heat of battle, but what they have a hard time dealing with is hard CC. Take Tristana, Ezreal, and Corki as examples. If caught, they can all jump or blink out, but if chain stunned, they're basically dead. Banshee's Veil may stop a Blitz grab or a Bandage Toss long enough but in games where your bubble is popped or the enemy has too much CC to begin with, Veil won't do anything. Quicksilver Sash is almost twice as cheap as Veil, offers almost the same amount of MR, and has an active that lets you cleanse out of almost all CC. With many carries facing the problem of chain CC and Banshee's Veil's nerfs making it less powerful, what are thoughts on using QSS as a staple item in a build over Veil itself?

This idea came after reading Locodoco's post in Trojan's new Tristana build, btw.

Why is QSS used less than BV?

BV is every 45 seconds, QSS is every 110.

I've seen numerous people carry QSS to specifically counter WW/Malz though.

I would use it in place of BV on Mordekaiser, or someone who doesn't need the health or mana.

uh everyone needs health. ok well everyone benefits from it unless theres an enemy vayne

and i usually build a banshees veil because a) i can get that early catalyst which is nice and b) i've had bad experiences with qss. either i completely forget about it (which sadly i usually forget about item actives) or i use it wrong (aka i get stunned, pop it, and then stunned again by another enemy.)

and no matter who i play if the enemy is building stunlock team its usually a loss because they clicked normal instead of ranked game on accident.

I'd build QSS on any character to counter WW, Malzahar, or Urgot.

Otherwise?

Probably not.

QSS is when the enemy team just dumps EVERYTHING onto you to keep you down. For example in ranked, I usually play Corki and the enemy team uses stuns/supresses like Malzahar, Warwick, etcetc. QSS out, it's A-OK.

B-Veil is when the enemy team isn't focusing all their cc's on you. It's more for poke wars imo.

Fix'd and agreed.

The argument of characters running out of mana/health without B-Veil isn't really relevant because one, you don't really get B-Veil until late game and 2. Quicksilver sash costs about 1500 less than B-Veil does and you could buy ample defense with that (Chain Mail+Negatron Cloak, Giant's Belt, etc)>

Both have niche reasons for purchase. Sometimes there is even a reason to get both (as opposed to purchasing a FoN which provides MR, MS, and Health Regen).
