Last changes to this, since sunfire passive don't stack one would throw in a malady instead, other items that may come in hand would be wit's end, against a heavy mage team where all(almost all) guys have mana, use sorc shoes and thormail in conjunction.
sorc shoes, malady, sunfire cape, force of nature, wit's end, thornmail would look nice on him.

i like the idea but, i have to give it a downrating for the following reason: first of all, you cant stack sunfires anymore with the new patch. second, with no damage gear whatsoever, theres no reason to do this on yi as opposed to someone who would actualy benefit from the sunfire setup, like garen.

You have to look at Malady... Its new passive reduces MR. That means more SFC dmg, AND if you Alpha Strike it will do more dmg. You will also get more AP to scale with Meditate, which after those big fights you can meditate and keep pushing.

I do understand what they build is suppose to do, and it works very well. I was just trying to suggest a few more options is all.

lol, if it helps with enemy MR reduction, then it is a good item to scale ur Sunfire Capes's auras, so it is a good item to have :)

ok I like this... Its not the same old thing. No PD, IE, etc... Now I was thinking, how about taking out FoN and BV and puttin in Malady and Guinsoo's Rageblade? That will give you more power for dmg and means of AP

this is nice.

Because this is a ball of fire, not a burst damage dealer. Those items u said won't do much help, increase attack speed and ability power, and a little damage to? If i do a hybrid tank-dd, then i would get Ninja Tabi or Mercury Threads, Frozen Heart, Frozen Mallet, Stark's Fervor, Infinity Edge and either Banshee's Veil or Quicksilver Sash, though Quicksilver Sash have 3 min cooldown, witch i think it's pretty long.

First of all, why did you choose to focus on a hybrid magic damage tank master yi?

Second, I as a player do not play the magic damage Yi, since I believe that alpha strike is made for chasing and farming not some way to nuke players down. Normally I tell AP Master Yi's why they want to alpha strike an enemy and then land next to him and die instantly.. you managed to by pass that squishy part but do you plan to kill a mundo by only alpha striking him?? why no cooldown runes when you make a build where you need to hurt people with alpha strike? makes little sense, your build points in too many different ways and I dont see what threat a 100 damage Yi is.. good thinking but yuo have to work way harder and improve the idea... gl with it ;)

Nah, this is not a mage-Yi, i tock magic pen runes and abysal scepter to decrease enemy mag rez, so the sunfire capes do more damage, but you c that he have just 70 AP, so not much magic damage. And after a team fight, you may pop higlander and follow any fleeing enemy, or if it is bad, just run to safety. This build is not for high bursts of damage, i leave that to Ezreal, Akali, Ryze or others, i will just rush to enemy's carries, makeing them use all skills on me and leaving their party without their damage support. And with 200 magic ressistance and armor, i think i may live after that. :))

u mean alpha strike and meditate? yes, this was intentional, get a bit ap, resistance to, but most awesome is the resistance reduction on enemy heroes who are near u. sunfire capes do magic damage to, and i think the damage is affected by the enemy reisitances.
