People keep asking for my level, so level 11. I've been focusing really hard on trying to become the best player possible as fast as possible, because I'm very competitive (my background lies in Starcraft). I'm probably trash next to a good player, but it's really frustrating when people just won't play smartly and I end up in a snowball game that is very hard to learn in (as I said, a fed alkali ends your life in the lane pretty quick)

Brood War or Starcraft 2? (as you can tell I enjoy my fair share of Starcraft, too).

And don't worry about trying to improve at the speed of light, there's always a learning curve and you're not even playing with a full set of tools (you don't have a rune page and/or masteries yet, not to mention you may/may not be solid with mechanical fundamentals such as last hitting and positioning).

You two need to teach me the starcraft!
Bak on topic: Like Bwong said, you shouldn't be worrying too much right now. Real play comes around level 25-30 when you have runes and masteries to impact play.

Both.

I don't know, I think having the mindset of improving as fast as possible as efficiently as possible is important. Obviously there are some things you shouldn't be worrying about if your toolset isn't in place yet. You probably shouldn't tell a new player to 2 hatch muta or valkonic, because they just aren't going to be able to do it. But, I mean, you wouldn't tell a new player, "look, you have bad macro and micro, and standard muta>lurker>defiler play is really tough, so just 9 pool every game". Yeah, their skillsets are probably non existent at that point, but you improve the fastest by focusing on that pretty difficult standard play and developing their skillsets around strong play.

IN BOTH GAMES!

1a2a3a4a - Brood War

1a FFFFFFF - Starcraft 2

What're your stats in BW/SC2?

I'm like F- on ICCup cause I'm pretty bad at BW (no clue what builds I'm supposed to be doing as any race. All I know is 1rax expo and 3hatch hydra).

-Woot off topic.

lol, protoss doesn't require micro unless you want to play on a competitive level (high masters) unless you count forcefields, and F spam is pretty easy, yo.
