Considering Kayle's new passive being %defense reduction, is it a bad idea to build malady on her? Malady is flat magic resist reduction, so malady would actually reduce the effect of her passive, depending on which is calculated first (pretty sure percent reduction is calculated second).

It doesn't reduce the effectiveness.
It's applied in this order:
1. Percentage Reduction
2. Flat Reduction
3. Flat Penetration
4. Percentage Penetration

I don't know how good Malady and Black Cleaver are for her, but they could be worth a shot.
You can also consider that with the %reduction you don't need as much ArP/MrP.

I can control it pretty good most of the time, but when September ends, I just cant hold it in anymore. When I see things like that I cant control my pumpkin urges anymore. My natural instincts kick in. I then sit down motionless, while getting bright orange." - Morgana L

In her current "broken" state, I would say yes.
Because her passive is only shredding the base, the extra 45 Armor off and the whatever MR as well, might be viable.

ah I see nvm then. I was thinking it was like malady would reduce magic resist by 20, and then her passive would reduce it by 10%. So if someone had 100 MR, they would lose a total of 28, lowering the effectiveness of her passive by 2. But if percent is calculated first, then it doesn't matter.

Her passive is practically non existent. Don't even bother trying to maximize it atm.

As far as I have seen. The Kayles that did pretty good went for a fast Madred's Bloodrazor and then went Nashor's Tooth. Also getting a Zeal early seems to be important for making the most of Reckoning.

Also I've seen kayles that are still stacking 2 Doran's Ring for survivability with good results.

Just played against a Kayle with a Malady, although her team lost she did extremely well and was by far their biggest threat. I'd say its worth a shot. Theory crafting is all about testing to find results, might as well.
The weak lose their freedom to the strong. Such is the way of the strong. And it is the providence of nature that only the strong survive. That's why I needed strength.
