I'm french and even I wouldn't put them as an example, seeing how bad mannered they were during gamescon (almost refused to shake hands when they lost, completely rage-losers.)
And just so everyone know : French speaking french are even more a pain in the *** for other French. I understand them less when they try to speak french than when they try to speak english.
(but maybe still less annoying than russian with f**ing cyrillic alphabet, with wich you can't even try to understand a few terms cause you just can't even understand how it's supposed to be read)
I'm never wrong ; reality may be.
Biggest annoyance I've had so far with the french is having their own conversation in french at the same time as one in english... I always worry I've missed something, and of course the slight paranoia that they're talking in french about ME :/
(Of course, a friend of mine popped that last worry with the line "Yeah, but you're not that interesting, so why would they talk about you...?" )
Interesting to note that the Germans, stereotypically a very serious and humourless nation, have all gone well against that whenever I've spoken in-game to them. So well done them :)

I feel exactly the same.

Russians are too much pain to bear with.
I prefer Spanish, cause I understand a damn little from this q.q
