Hey i appreciate the comment, buts here is my deal with aegis. Indeed its cheap and has a few boosts, but its doesn't excel at any bonus particularly well. Knowing that defense and magic resists drop off in terms of cost effectiveness at 200 each, you will see that my tank builds reach around 200 with just 5 items- merc treads, banshees, FoN, randuin's, and sunfire. now you got your 200 give or take defenses. now how do you finish your tank? i think having aegis late game would serve no perpose, and having it early game would just delay your tanking ability. Instead use that 6th spot for better things like: keep it open for warding, or get more hp and soft cc(what this guides all about), and for a final option perhaps a damage item if you feel you can contribute to the teamfight with it.

So after this wall of text my conclusion; aegis is just too outclassed by the other options the tank can utilize.

PS As a support item - I really would not recommend getting with support anyways. I feel like support should grab shurelya and maximize their heals/sheilds and whatever damage they can dish out with AP.

Heyho antimatter!

I have one major issue with this build. It contains good thoughts but well...
What's so wrong about Aegis of the Legion.

Don't you think, that it should be purchased with a Tank, because he propably get's more gold than the Supporter gets? Thus he can finish it earlier and the Supporter can focus on getting Shurelya's Battlesong or Soul Shroud i.e.?
Plus Aegis is relatively cheap for the good Armor and MR it gives, what makes it a perfect tank item.

Convinced? :D

There's a difference between building "tanky" and being an actual tank. Ex: Mordekaiser...not a tank. "Soft cc" cannot keep your carries from dying if counting on him as your tank.

Good points, thanks. Galeo is more suited for this guide than Cho'gath is anyways.

Decent guide, however I think that you forgot probably the one tank with the most CC in the game, Galio. Also, try to add tips on how to play, your guide is kind of lacking some stuff.
