dissagree with the warmogs comment. You have no hp, you have no tank. end of story.
A lot of people feel that way, and I have made a lot of people believers in the way that I tank. Its simple really, you build resistances, which reduces the amount of damage moves do to you by a percentage, so lets look at it like this if I have 309 armor and 188 MR, thats really like I can take 11k physical damage, and 8k magic damage, so with my almost 100hp per 5, I am pretty solid.
Plus the reason why I say not to use Warmogs with rammus is because getting farm with him is not the easiest thing in the world, and to max it out is 100 creeper kills that your carries should have had.
oh, and I got the 11k and the 8k from a LOL Builder that calculates the effective health of items.
Holy, this guide helped a ton
Yeah! Im glad it worked for you! I bet your team LOVED you!
and thanks for the plus 1 :)
I notice that you miss understand my use of the word "support" which is understanable because when you say the word "support" in LOL you think of things like healing and buffing, but what I meant by "support" in this sense is holding down an enemy and helping the carry get first blood, and lots of kills during laning phase, so no I am not being a support champion, I am being a awesome laning partner that selflessly gives up farm so that i can set my carry up for kill, and thus getting me assist.
Also, I know that it seems like a lot of gold, but I have never had trouble getting it, by laning with an AD carry I enable them to get a lot of early kills and because of that I usually end laning phase with 3 or 4 assist, and 1 kill. So with that, and about a few creeper kills while the lane mate is buying items, it does not take anytime time to get them.
No, when I think of support I think of the same thing as you: enabling kills and farm for the carry. And in early game, buffing is an easy way to do that, which any support (whether Riot labels them support or not - Singed actually plays support quite well) can do by picking up a support item. Usually this is Randuin's Omen, but Rammus stacks armor anyway.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I think that Aegis at least deserves mention in the build, because if you're laning to support the carry you might end up full-on support, whether you're a tank or not. And even if you aren't, someone has to get the shiny shield, so if the resident support (Morgana, for example) doesn't get it, it's probably the tank's job.
Still, though, you did state your case. The role you're filling with Rammus fits with what you suggest. So you get your +1. :D
I <3 the guide. A work of pure and unarguable genius. 2 Thumbs way way up. Blood in blood out baby
haha, I love this!
This build's pretty good for Rammus. Lots of armor and MR, which is the whole point (glad you pointed that out, btw. HP Rammus just ain't right.). But I have a few concerns with the build as a whole.
First of all, and maybe this is a personal thing, but the grammar is a bit lacking. It's nothing horrific - a typo here, a run-on or mispunctuation there - but as a reader I find it somewhat hard to focus on what you're saying when these errors pop up. Mind you, this has nothing to do with the content of your guide, but a bit of polish never hurts. The clearer you are, the better people will understand the build, and that's always a good thing. This sort of carries over to formatting, but formatting is negotiable and it'd be petty of me to complain over a lack of pretty colors that don't alter the information at all.
Second, you mention in the Items section that this build is about supporting the carry. If that's the case, I think that
I don't know if I agree with having Force of Nature and Thornmail both in the core build. Both are good items, but you yourself mention in the guide that as a support you don't get a lot of cash. For this reason it's kind of hard to obtain both items unless you really get fed, especially if you're simultaneously building
Again, the build isn't bad. But based on those issues, I have to withhold that sweet, sweet +1 for a bit. Sorry if I rambled. :)
