So, Rammus does well as either capturer or defender, and can actually still do OK at the one he's not building for. But which build do you guys think brings more to the team?

Depends on your teams composition and the opposing teams composition. If your team already has a capturer or defender then you wont need to fill that role. If the enemy team has low mobility and low disruption skills (ashes ult karthus ult etc) then your team definately needs a capturer. If thier team is mobile and has long range skills then you might not even need a capturer and you should play as defender rammus. I play Capturer Zilean quite a bit so im very familiar with when I should play taker or capturer.

Rammus is a roamer, pure and simple. Neutralize enemy points and use Powerball to zip around to defend your points. He can defend, but he's not great at it since Tremor is his only AOE and he has no ranged attacks other than Tremor.

He's best as a roamer, let someone else play anchor.

Probably his role is to be as annoying to the enemy team as possible. Zipping around neutralizing points, eventually the enemy has to stop you, otherwise they risk losing a point. Even better when a defender has to leave to try to stop you, which makes capturing a point even easier.
