No your first autoattack ought to just go straight off, but everyone after that there will be a delay. I believe that is how it works.

How to tank guide (Revamped! 10/13)
So then I assume the attack starts within a champions range? So if the champion leaves that range, the timer is then reset, yes?
So that means - for instance - that if a champion has the 0.2 attack speed and a 125 attack range, one could sit in his range for 4 seconds, then leave the 125 attack range, then enter it again and said champion would never be able to hit, correct?

what?
attack speed doesnt change for each different unit. if have a 5 second cd, hit someone, and they walk away at 4 seconds, your auto attack will still be available one second afterwards. doesnt matter who you hit etc..

If that's the case then the first auto-attack is effectively unaffected by attack speed.
If the first auto-attack is affected by attack speed, my question is what is the requirement for the attack to start being triggered (My assumption being range). If that is the case, then the attack speed would be refreshed once you leave said range. In the case of a 0.2 attack speed, it's would then be possible to stay in range and then leave, constant refreshing his attack speed.

If you leave the range, it effectively cancels your attack. If they leave after the attack is already in the air (Ashe's arrows, Soraka's bananas, Brand's fire) it does nothing to affect you. Attack speed also affects how long it takes for both the attack to hit and get in the air if it's a ranged attack.
If it is a ranged attack, the DPS is significantly lower if you are attacking at max range as attack speed does not change the missile speed of the attack and they can't attack again until it has made contact.

I believe this is incorrect. Either the missile speeds up or there can be several missiles in the air at the same time.

Does attack speed affect your first auto-attack?
For instance, if you have an attack speed of 0.2 (aka, attack once every five seconds), would your first attack be ASAP or would it be in 5 seconds?
I've tried to google and haven't found an answer :(
