The entire reason that this build is so effective on Nidalee is because of the cougar form buffs, makes her really tanky. Like Duff said, the reason for the **** is because of her buffs/nerfs in specific areas. It makes some build more viable while hindering others.

I honestly find the whole meta-game topic pretty interesting. It's nice to see that some of the people who play this game actually care enough to find what works best given the current system.

As far as AD/tanky vs. AP Nidalee goes, it mostly depends on what your team needs. If your team needs some good poking power, then building AP is the way to go. If you're team needs someone who can get in your opponents faces and soak damage, then the atmog's build would be a better choice. Both builds are strong, and each has benefits. One of the builds will be stronger then the other simply based off of your opponents and who your allies are.

As far as the metagame shifting, the NA meta pretty much got trashed, and the EU seems to be the best bet right now (I know, kind of old news). There HAS been some talk of some other meta game ideas coming into play, like a double jungle idea and sending an AP bruiser top (already discussed some here). I don't see those necessarily as meta game shifts though. I think we've already gotten to THE meta game, and unless riot starts switching things up, these other playstyles are simply that: different ways to play the game, usually just based on the characters both teams pick.

BTW: I'm on my way to start up a thread on how the new summoner spell revamps are going to impact the meta game. I'm curious as to people's thoughts on this one. Even though we don't have THAT much information, getting the wheels turning earlier couldn't hurt.
That +rep button could use some love!

Actually getting the wheels turning before you have information generally does have a negative impact.

That's why everyone on MobaFire went all herpaderpa over ******** Frozen Mallet and Trinity Force before Talon even released. I just happened to be late to the thread, and even though I told them no... Getting higher AD values will probably better, or getting armor pen items like brutalizer will be better, they had already made up their minds and decided as a group that either Triforce or Frozen Mallet were necessary to take advantage of Talon's 10% damage increase on his passive.

LOL.

When in reality, it's better if you just get massive AD (300+, preferably 400 or more AD) and crush faces with your damage and jump in like a living hand grenade.

10% damage increase from 200 is 220. Or you could have 300. See the problem here? They decided what they were doing before ever seeing the numbers.

So I would advise not making a new thread before we have the info because people are gonna derp out and go crazy for cleanse and stuff before they even know how strong it will be.

Make it if you want to, that's just my piece.
