Troll (ish) Soraka Hybrid Build, best way to...

I haven't seen it in many guides, and I'm by no means arguing it is the best, but I kinda want to do a decent lich bane soraka. On paper it works great, but the build to actually make it feasible is expensive (meaning late game, I would like to try and get it sooner). Has anyone done this consistently?

My idea is boots of speed, malady, nashor's, lich bane, rylais, void staff, sorc shoes? She'll need mpen cuz of lower ap, and she'll need as and a little cdr to really take advantage at all. I dunno...I'm just unable to play right now cuz I'm doing my military **** right and I was bored and trying to think of fun things to do.

Also, haven't attempted in about a month so new masteries and summoner's (surge maybe?) may hurt or help my plan to make a trolly hybrid soraka...

or screw nashor's and just grab blue or somethin w/ a cloak and dagger for tenacity...I dunno. Like I said this isn't a ranked build...Just a pubstomp style soraka with early lichbane

Actually it is a lot better to build an AP soraka and then get a lich bane as your last items rather then going with malady. You only need 1 att in between each starfall and that doesn't demand a high Attack speed. Nashoor's tooth that you can still take for the AP and CDR.

I theorise that a good build would be(item sequence):

Doran+Sorcerer's boots+Rabadon+Catalyste+Rylei's+Banshee/RoA+Lichbane+Nashoor tooth.

You should have some spellvamp in there.

Makes Soraka nearly unkillable in teamfights

Hmm I can't really see it working. It would be a huge burden on your mobility. You'll now have to stand still due to starcall, AND have to stand still for your auto attack. From my experience as AP soraka I think it's really important to be able to move (while spamming starcall) in teamfights. You constantly want to reposition yourself so that you can hit as many as possible with starcall, while not being on the front line so they cant easily switch on you.

Also i find Will of the Ancients is kinda nice for soraka, but keep in mind that spellvamp works only for 1/3rd on AoE spells like starcall. It's great for big creep waves, but in teamfights it isn't that effective. I find its biggest use in teamfights is buffing your teammates.

Especially Ryze scales brilliantly with will of the ancients. He can litterally outheal anything with his ultimate (gives 25% spellvamp) and his shortcooldown, single target spells. I'm surprised I haven't faced a Ryze with WotA before.

let's say you have ~500 AP:

You'll deal 360 damage/starcall, meaning you will heal ~29 damage/starcall hit.

Let's say you're in a teamfight and you're hitting 5 targets with starcall:

That's ~145 damage healed every time you starcall the enemy team. If you have 40% CDR (which I prefer to have), that's every 1.5 seconds. If the teamfight lasted 6 seconds, you healed ~580 over that fight.

Sure it's not as much as Ryze probably gets when he's not ulting, but it's still quite a lot. Because of the way Ryze's ult works he actually only gets 1/3 from WotA himself, since it makes his abilities deal AoE damage.

Damn, you guys are right. It seemed like a fun idea, but the math on that starcall is pretty compelling.
