theres a problem on the ps3 version. the fps starts to drop when your save file hits about 6gb.

Dark Souls and Demon Souls share some common concepts but the stories are totally apart.

Both are great games and totally worth it. Dark Souls is even "hard" for people with Demon Souls experience tbh... since they changed some game mechanics but imho it's a lot better.

Both are worth the purchase and i'd strongly advise you to do it.

Don't play only Dark/Demon Souls tho... have a backup game to fall back to. DS will test your patience and sometimes it's better to stop and take a rest instead of snowballing mistakes.
50. Most importantly, yes, they Have Baron warded. No, I don't want to go for him at the moment.

I disagree, but then I spent about 2 days on Black Ops Veteran, stopping only when I was literally too tired to complete the levels, and giving up only when I had an error that quit me out in the middle of a mission I had just spent 3 hours getting most of the way through. Seriously, **** that game.

I actually got quite some game with my PS3, so I'mma wait until it is cheaper, perhaps until you can buy a bundle with both if that happens :D

I'm probably getting my PS3 today and I NEED to play Uncharted 3 first. That is the game I've been looking forward to the most ever in my entire life xD

I also have BF3, Skyrim, Arkham City, Deus Ex and Enslaved, so not like I need games for a long time, though I'd really like to have Saints Row 3 :D

I just wanted to know if these two games were connected, since I've heard that they are harder and more pure than other modern games.

Not harder, more punishing. The combat is very precise and the player has pretty much complete control, but the cost of failure is pretty high, and you're going to fail a lot. There are games that are harder, and there are games that are outright unfair (any MW game on Veteran, pretty much), but because death is actually a developed mechanic (rather than a "game over") they put in steep costs for dying.

That said, the devs are total ****s. They went around on max-level characters invading and killing reviewers and people who were playing the game early, just 'cause.

a lot of those people who were playing early had pirated versions.

to me, the way egoraptor describes the first castlevania sounds like dark/demon souls. sorry for vid length though. im sure there are tons of rpgs like castlevania 2. you can stop watching at about 2 minutes though. heh.

Currently playing Dark Souls. Bought it for myself as a Christmas present (it was 40 bucks a steal for a game fresh out in October of this year)

Still on my first playthrough ~40 hours into it.

Class: Knight
Preffered Weapon(s): Halberd (going to ascend it soonish), Black Knight's Greatsword, Drake Sword

Build: High Strength/Vitality/Stamina with minimal focus into dexterity for some special weapons.

Playstyle: Opprutunistic Tank or Reckless Grunt. Weather it be with my greatsword/halbred/drake sword I'm almost always absorbing a blow before dealing one as a tank and avoiding one when I'm 2-handing. I have to with such low mobility and generally slow deliberate attacks. But the reward for being patient often exceeds the risk of an early attack. Generally easy class meant to be played by a beginner, not the FoTM type of character either. Most of those rely on high stamina to avoid attacks (apparently)

Current Level: ~55

Current Area: Just made it to New Ar Londo (however you spell it)

Current Thoughts on the game:

BY FAR THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING AROUND. Not "difficult" persay, although it can be. Very unforgiving for new players, even veterans of the game can have troubles. With a rather a-typical progression through areas and a lack of any actual arrow to point the way this game can take even the most hardcore gamer and make them a whiney little *****. The level of depth the game has is astounding and I was hooked from the first hour of play. SOME complications like performace issues in certain areas and the occassional pathing issues IE falling off 2 foot wide bridges because the terrain on the next platform is slightly elevated and seemingly impossible to get on top of (Blighttown and the Grand Hollow come to mind) can cause embarassing and costly deaths.

Being that you are more or less only pointed in a general direction rather then pointed, followed, and babysat by a hidden voice, a narrative, or a linear "level", you can basically find yourself in an area with creatures that will completely rape your face at any point in time....That said, it is not that you'll run into this type of thing often. There is SOME direction, just not a lot....Although in the undead burg walking down the tower stairs and into what I can only call the "Rhino" Knight then prompty being crushed by his weapon was one of these instances.

The a-typical multiplayer adds a layer of fun too. Reading messages of people who passed through an area, watching someone die, and or invading/being invaded or assisted all things fun...The servers aren't the greatest though so there are issues conncecting at times. As well....Some jack ***es like to leave "Try Jumping" messages in areas where jumping will probably lead to death...Although I admit jumping to what you assume could be your death often also reaps the reward of souls/humanity/items. So it's 50/50 that someone is actually telling the truth.

BOSS FIGHTS: By far some of the most fun I've had, also the most infuriating. Why?
1. Boss areas are almost all marked by Fog Doors...
2. Some non boss areas are also blocked by fog doors.....
3. Most bosses have a mechanic to beating them...Like using ranged attacks/magic/hack and slash hit their tails (more often than not it's the tail XD)...
4. There are no real "obvious" signs as to which is best for each boss aside from someone's scribbled message on the ground...Which might get you killed in the process of reading it.
5. The HP Pools are daunting...(fun and ****ing scary)
6. Die in a boss location...Lose all your souls/humanity...Recovery chance? Unlikely if you realize the boss out levels you by... A LOT....
7. Bosses drop lots of souls and some nice items if killed properly.
8. Often the items/weapons dropped might not be immideately useable.

Overall an awesome game. Mixes risk and reward well enough. DEFFINATELY worthy of more than 1 play through. DEFFINATELY a buy. DEFFINATELY gonna give me a heart attack soon.

Sitting on 80k Souls, almost to the Ginat Blacksmith who can turn boss souls into weapons....Got a mini boss between me and him, and who knows WTF else >_<
