How does me liking something have to do with changing ones appearance?
Simple. You laughing at someone because their hair is "different" and/or "odd".
You're a (young)adult male, and you love a cartoon about ponies, who's target audience is 10 year old girls.
Your taste in television probably sounds a bit "odd", and "different" to most people, nay?
Therein lies the bit of irony.
also,
Polse, stereotyping is baaad, mmmayyyyyyy.

Actually the funny thing is MOST of the mlp audience are young adults or way older then 10.. so I'm guessing that would make the show lean more towards them.
Also you should give mlp a try trololol
nono, I'm aware of the cult-like following. My 24 year old brother watches it :P
Just saying, the target audience IS for young girls. I know lots of teens/young adult guys do watch it, though.
Think, Ren and Stimpy from back in the day. Made for young kids. That's the target audience, but still, lots of older people watched it as well, because there were lots of smart jokes kids didn't understand. I THINK mlp is the same way?
MLP Target Audience=Little girls
MLP Actual Audience=Little girls+Teenagers+A handful of adults
EDIT: I've TRIED to give MLP the benefit of the doubt, and watch it myself. Watched parts of a few episodes, still didn't interest me enough to want to watch more :/

Target audience for season 2 is on the older end of the spectrum now. Just sayin'

Doesn't really surprise me, after the insane following it's gathered online. Also, I promised my brother I'd watch a full episode from the new season, after much nagging on his end.
I'm scared.
The irony I was trying to point out still stands, though.

I don't laugh at them because they are different. I don't care if they are different.
I laugh at them because it look bad, gay, silly, ugly, etc...
Appearance is not the same thing as preferences in entertainment.
Stereotyping isn't bad. It's human.
Nor am i putting a negative tone to being Emo, Punk or trying to Piss of one's parents. It's just the message it sends. Just like a suit sends a message of power/money, not all will be struck tremendously by it, but most will take notice.
So especially if he wanted a job or something he should probably wait dieing his hair, just because of the message it sends.

k, so
Still ironic because: Lots of people (especially those who don't frequent the interwebz) would/could laugh at the fact that you watch pony cartoons, thinking that it's gay, silly, dumb, ect...
Just as you would laugh at someone who has dyed their hair, thinking it's gay, silly, dumb, ect...
Wasn't saying it was a bad thing, by any means, anyways. Bronies are aight in my book.
Also, never even hinted as to meaning "Appearance is the same thing as preferences in entertainment", not really sure where you got that.
@Polse
You mean to tell me that stating "Most of guys with dyed hair are either, Emo or Teenagers wanting to piss of their parents." isn't an extremely ignorant thing to say?
Dunno, just my opinion. Don't like stereotypes.
