Soul Eater EP 45/51, ****'s getting epic.
Even though I am already looking forward to an epic finale, the anime disapointed me so far in a few aspects.
First of all, so much deus ex machina...really, if there's one thing I hate not only in Anime but also in Books, Games and Movies, it's deus ex machina. A deus ex machina is basically the prevention of an inevitable happening in the last possible second(E.g. the famous "life saving sword block out of nowhere"), and Soul Eater(Like most shounen anime) has plenty of them.
Not that I don't want out heroes to be safe and everything, but I like a realistic flow of events. I just can't take an anime serious where a deadly-wounded character passes away just to survive after losing tons of blood...I think you get the idea.
Second, so much stuff makes no sense to me, the story is flat and so are the characters, but I guess that's just shounen(Even though FMA: Brotherhood proved that you can do it different).
Third, the story was very boring at times because you can predict pretty much everything and there is little to no character-development.
And...yea I guess it's just the fact that it's one of the most stereotypical shounen animes I've watched so far and I don't like shounen that much in general that makes the show disapointing for me. The animations are very cool, the soundtrack is great and the fights are AWESOME, so it's still fun to watch and that's what it's about in first place I guess.
