I'm looking to build a runepage for my supports and was thinking of running GP10 Quints, are they worth it with the respective masteries and Philo/HoG or should I just run health quints like I have been?

Yes they're worth it but only in full premade 5s.
The armor is invaluable when it comes to soloqueue.

EDIT: Get the masteries and quints anyway. They're good all the time.

I'm about to get full armor reds to replace my mpen reds. The quints I figured would just boost my income along with the masteries. I could see them being useful for solo-que as well.

IMO there are much better Quints than that. For example Swiftness (Maybe it's just my personal preference when it comes to playing support, but I like very mobile supports)
+rep me if I helped or if you liked my comment, if not, +rep the ones who did.

I think GP10 Quints are primary choice for supports. You add masteries and you have 1 GP10 item already. I play Soraka and I take Armor Marks and Seals for survivability in laning phase. She gets MR from passive so she is quite durable early game with such setup. Then I take CDR/level Glyphs because 20 sec CD heal is just too long. Helps in laning phase.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

On soraka, i use Armor Marks/Seals/Quints, and MR seals.

I start Ruby Crystal and rush HoG, and i auto attack their AD carry and force him to take damage for farm, or to attack me and lose the trade anyways.

By buying Ruby Crystal first you lose out on early warding (even with Wealth you can't buy any wards) to ward off early ganks and positional advantage. Also, GP10 will start generating gold as soon as the creeps start spawning. What makes Greater Quint of Avarice different to GP10 items like Heart of Gold (besides from generating 2 gold less) is that you don't have to buy them and then wait awhile for it to pay off - they're eternal gaining profit. That amount of Armor will only be of real use in the laning phase of the game but once you go past that you'll pay the price.

Soraka bananas so dangerous. :p

Wards can not kill your enemy.

I highly devalue level 1 wards, because it forces your build into something that doesn't enable you to win your lane.

You sure? When I play Soraka I start with Faerie Charm for that little mana regen you need if mana skill isn't enough. Then I take 2 potions so I can get health without using heal, so its up for surprises and when AD needs health. It leaves money for 2,3 wards which is enough to have lane covered for a long time. You should especially buy wards if you're playing with Vayne. Put then in the bush and she can have free wall hits.

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Whaaaaaaat?

I'll expand on what Zoki mentioned above in terms of how wards may interact with AD range carries: Condemn, Mystic Shot, Piltover Peacemaker, Phosphorus Bomb and later Missile Barrage. To say that wards don't kill enemies is completely ludicrous, Vision wards can ensure early bush ganks and if playing an aggressive support like Blitzcrank they can ensure grabs and possibly kills or at least forcing said victim out of the lane thus allowing the one left behind to be zoned out. Likewise visa-versa, in that it can prevent jungle bottom bush ganks and help foresee the position of possibly dangerous supports all the time like Alistar and Blitzcrank. Also, its not like you ward as soon as the creeps enter the lane rather you do so at level 2 at earliest and other times depending on the circumstance.

Soraka auto-attacks over all that? Personally, I'd choose the ward and choose a tank like support ( Leona, Alistar & Taric for example) so my chose of runes aren't gimped late-game.
