Other than the Lucidity Boots (why people get these on a low CD champion like Lux (who already lacks in damage compared to other AP carries and needs the MPen) I'll never know), her build is fine. Rylai's is acceptable when they have no real reliable AoE slow. I'd agree a Void Staff would be better, but two items wrong isn't really "aweful", especially when next to Talon.
Surprised Skarner didn't get a Shurelya's, tbh.
Judging by the assists though, they had far better teamwork than you.
