I upvote this guide for the indept about it, althought I think that most indepth guides almost require one to give some lane examples on how to outdo other opposing mages/survive their counters.

As for your Archangel's Staff question, I use it for sustenance and it works. Your masteries are different from mine (I have 21/9/0 for +MR and HP) and the early Tear of the Goddess allows me to harass more while being compensated for it (extra mana), and archangel's will stack with my Rod of Ages and (in case I needed it) my Banshee's. I've tried without, and it requires a lot of care using Ravenous Flock, potentially getting me out of mana too early (in other words, dead)

Very nice guide, this is basically how i build him (only that i get a hextec revolver early for MOAR spellvamp!) Very nice, but would you consider adding spirit visage for an optional item? more tankiness, CDR but mostly the increased healing effects. Just a thought

Also I noticed you took Ignite but not Summoner's Wrath . AFter using Ignite, you get +5 AD and AP (which already beats 4 points to Mental Force ), So I suggest changing that. Anyways good guide =D
