Magic: The Gathering Tactics is a turn-based strategy game based on the trading card game, as far as I can tell.

I haven't played it yet, but I am definitely interested in it because I love the TCG. Have any of you guys played it?

It's a free to play game so I'm gonna check it out soon and was wondering if anyone had any tips/hints or just wanted to start playing as well so we got someone to play with.

I'll probably play between LoL sessions and whatnot, but I definitely want to check it out so lets get together people ^_^

Well,

From what I have read and heard it has some nice mechanics and addictive multiplayer but you either have to grind daily quests or spend a whole bunch of money to not get roflstomped.

Yeah I knew this, simply that it's based on the TCG and you use a lot of the TCG as peices / whatnot

It is good, though not half as good as having real cards. I like the random little scenarios it gives you: You have these three cards in your hand and 5 life points left to the opponent's 20. Next turn, those 12 goblins are going to faceroll you. Figure out how to not die.

The Xbox 'spam little guys as much as you want, or save up land for one big guy, or get one little guy and uber buff him" is way more fun though. They need a remake. You know what's better than both of those? Having the real cards.

Holy words!
I don't have many of those cards(only about 300 ;p) and I haven't played since ages, but that feeling when you open a booster and you see a mythic-rare card... priceless. :D

And the only real MtG game on PC is still Duels of the Planeswalkers from 1997.
