And again, jungle Dr. Mundo is coming back. Now people start to understand him more and pick Greater Quintessence of Spell Vamp on him. With them, he can start jungling with boots and be even faster and better at jungling. Now he is the fastest jungler.^^

My favourite jungler (except Skarner). He has been for a while and the buff just made him too good. :D

Just do the maths yourself.

Mundo has two spells that benefit from spellvamp.
To see effectiveness of quintessence of transmutation a look at the first two ranks of each spell should be sufficient as the spellvamp is seen crucial for Mundo's early jungle phase.
I will handle both spells as if you would deal true damage, so no magic resistance is applied.
Remember that in reality it does less damage and therefore heals less. But that difference is minimalistic.

Infected Bonesaw
rank 1: minimum 80 dmg -> 4.8 health; means if you hit cost is 20 life
rank 2: minimum 130 dmg -> 7.8 health; means if you hit cost is 22 life
Heart Zapper
rank 1: 40 dps / cost 10 health per second -> 0.8 health per second restored per enemy (ae spell = 1/3 lifesteal)
rank 2: 55 dps / cost 15 health per second -> 1.1 health per second restored per enemy (ae spell = 1/3 lifesteal)

Let's assume you have a constant of average 3 enemies and apply Heart Zapper that means at rank 1 you deal 120 dps from the spell and pay it by 7.6 health per second instead of 10;
At rank 2 you deal a constant of 165 dps from the spell and pay it by 11.7 health per second.

Now calculate how quick you kill stuff with Blunt Force Trauma and you got your answer.

What I do not understand is why people believe that Transmutation beats Vampirism. (anyway, these quints are so obsolete on nearly each and every champ) As you nearly spam Blunt Force Trauma all the time with Mundo and it gets stronger by losing hp and you most probably use Mark of Attack Speed then I see a better synergy given there.
Once you reach level 2 it should be on par or even ahead as it is a single target spell and therefore heals the complete 6%;

I prefer something completely different, but that was not the question :)

Its actually not that bad and hes surprisingly good duelist if you pick up Exhaust and rather resilient to counter-jungling. His ganking power with Infected Bonesaw and ability to tower dive well with Maximum Dosage (as long as the opposing lane doesn't have Ignite) is quite good. Still think he falls behind other popular junglers and is gimped majorly by Ignite.

His kit is just counter productive to the idea of jungling...You make yourself weaker to deal more damage...OK well Lee Sin loves that idea. Q+E "A team mate has been slain"

I can agree Mundo has SOME utility for ganks. But he's beaten by every other viable jungle...He's completely reliant on being able to activate his ulti free of mortal strike debuffs because the damn ability deals more damage than anyone could hope for. We saw it when M5 lost to TSM the game they decided to use jungle mundo...He popped his ulti and was INSTANTLY focused down. Overall I just don't see jungle mundo as a pick anyone should make until they fix his ****ing kit.
