Hey guys, question about playing at low ELO. I always see recommendations for playing "carries" at low ELO. Does this refer to AD carries? Because I have been trying that, but running into huge problems because a lot of times at low elo, there are a ton of deaths early in the game. AD carries are pretty freaking puny early, and so if my team has 1 or 2 bad players on it, the game is literally over before I can even start getting my items.

Do you think that it is a better idea to go with more of a "bruiser" type champion that can dish out some damage yet have a little strongerr early-game presence? Any particularly "broken" champs that you suggest?

No, simply opt for a "early-mid game AD range carry" which is mainly chosen to sought after dominating the lane (due to having a strong laning phase). Such examples would be: Caitlyn, Miss Fortune and AD Kennen. I wouldn't really say that a lot of the AD carries are that weak early game as described, Tristana and Graves for example have a fine enough early game.

You can also easily carry as damage dealing offtank like GP, Lee Sin,...You can basically change the tides of a game with everyone, even supports(proper sona ult ---> ace ---> gets you that advantage you need).

Don't hate, it's too big a burden to bear.

Trynda is a great pick, but there are two things:

#1: You must practice. He's not that easy to play as people say
#2: You must not be an idiot. C'mon, only fools get kited to hell

Play Tristana and Caitlyn. They have the range and escape tools to not have problems. They also have insane damage as long as they aren't focused. If you want to 1v5, learn to play Amumu or Mordekaiser. :)

Actually I feel like AD carries are less potent in low ELO than say AP carries or Offtanks. The reason being that AD carries require protection and are a lot more fragile than the other 2. But generally when people say to "carry yourself" through low ELO they mean any champ you can play where you can control the game best. So whatever champ you are best at winning with, play that.
Thanks to Minho for my sig!

Actually Caitlyn is pretty weak at the moment. Her whole point is to poop on your opponents in lane, but Sivir and Graves are just too strong for you to do that. Sivir especially counters the **** out of Caitlyn.

I wouldn't say Caitlyn is weak at the moment but rather a situational pick nowadays instead of being a "I pick this, I win lane, I win game" as in the past. She has the range advantage over most AD carries but tends to fade out late-game (or even mid-game) if she hasn't made a real impact in the game beforehand.

Exactly, if you can't do something in lane she becomes worse than almost any other AD and you try winning a lane against a well played Sivir or Graves. AKA the two AD carries that get picked in every game.

Caitlyn has a great lane control early game, but if she doesnt get money during that part of the game, shes useless
