Tristana is definitely small (D&D Small), besides her gun, while Vayne is normal-sized (D&D Medium), so it stands to reason that pretty much everything about Vayne is bigger.

Vayne doesn't need armorpen, she has true dmg. And instead of a second Phantom Dancer, you can also get Trinity Force. More defense while still having strong attacks. Combine that with another defensive item like Banshee's Veil, Quicksilver Sash, Guardian Angel, etc., you are hard to kill. But buy Triforce after your second B.F.-Item and the defense item before it.

Dont even Buy IE in this case, you dont need damage on auto-attack you have true damage from W ...
Not having LW against some 150 armor people (jungler and top, zhonya + aegis aura, graves with wriggle can go pretty high on armor too i guess) is bad for you. I dont even talk about more armor ...
And LW brings AD, always nice to Q with high AD, and is "cheap"
