Every support gets nerfed when they become the most popular. Except Soraka who got buffed for reasons I don't fully understand.

She's fine in lane. There is no sustain with her...But, she does have a long range knock up, slow, and shield which buffs AD. So a competent player should be able to protect their carry with her skill set. Makig her a safe lane partner.
Her late game is unbelievably awesome...I don't play supports a lot but Janna gives me something to do, unlike Taric/Sona/Soraka all of whom make me fall asleep in the lane.
