I agree with Asunder, getting Tear early, especially as your first item is bad. It gives you no survivability, and along with Cassie's passive it just ends up being very inefficient and unnecessary for for you to get. Getting it mid-game or later so you can generate a larger mana pool and AP makes better use of it since this is when your spells will start to really cost mana. An early game Tear is simply overkill; getting some MP regen is enough.

Why build Tear mid-late game? Her skill spamming is amazing and therefore builds Tear up quickly no matter what stage of the game you are at. Except her ult, all her cooldowns are very short. Get some CDR and you can cast multiple miasma clouds and spam the hell out of Q. E is pretty much a ranged 1.5-2.0 attack speed auto-attack that deals magic damage. So far I've found you absolutely must bind a key to smartcast Cassie's E(I usually use T). Then when you get into any fight just start mashing your Q and T buttons and hit W everytime it's up. You end up casting like 10 spells every 5 seconds.

Anyway what runes do you use? So far I've determined that MagPen reds and HP quints are pretty vital. Not sure about Seals and glyphs though. Should I use straight MP regen or MP regen/lvl yellows? For glyphs, CDR , straight AP, or AP/lvl blues?

Right now, I'm going:

Scaling CDR glyphs,
Scaling MP5 seals,
Magic pen marks,
Magic pen quints.

(As for HP quints, using them is also a good idea. I just play really really careful in the early game to make up for it.)

AP scaling is trash on her E, which is what I'm using the most for kills through early and mid game. As such, the tiny bit of AP from glyph/seals hasn't helped me much. :(

She's a great spiker and reminds me of a cross between Karthus, Anivia, and Evelynn. Late-game she becomes a good DPS champion. The problem of her not having enough health early game if going for a fast Tear is moot - you should be playing well enough to not take much damage anyway, as your zoning abilities are extremely formidable.

The more I play Cassie the more I get the feeling that she would make a great jungler. Her ability to gank is just so great it seems a shame to not make use of it. It's even feasible to just lane for levels 1-4 and then go jungle/gank afterward.

Of course if you choose to jungle first you have to get miasma as your first skill and smite as a summoner skill... I'll to do some testing to see if this idea is viable though.

Anyway what do you guys feel about boots? It feels like her her speed buff from noxious blast barely does anything unless you have have boots of swiftness.

I think laning until you get Twin Fang is a decent idea. I could also try out a pseudo-jungle build that involves getting only the small golems first to level for an early game advantage.

Could anyone tell me what Cassiopeia is (caster, Hybrid, etc.)
And how to counter her in teamfights or in a gank?

@Alahric
Cassiopeia is an assassin (Caster) in my opinion, especially with how her ult works.
She's the type to flank in team fights, and enemies know if they try to target her they risk being stunned.

If properly played, it's best to have wards to counter Cassiopeia and gank her before the team fight starts, as with how most assassins work (such as Kat), which is to show up out of nowhere and dish out mass damage.

I haven't played with her, but I think she's too weak or people really don't know how to play her, I've never seen her owning yet.
