Don't care to explain. Voting down because you lane with Hecarim, and oh by the way, enjoy the downvote. Next time be a bit kind to my build instead of just thinking about yourself and your build. This build confuses Hecarim players and makes them think he's bad. Shoo.
clearly you aren't particularly bright, so lemme lay this out for you, hec is an initiator he isn't supposed to be squishy, by making him both bulky and building a reasonable amount of dmg he actually helps the team, rather than diving in and dying, something which your build does, and if you actually read my guide, u can swap mallet for mogs if you don't think you need the reliable slow, but for chasing champs like kat or jax with there annoying as **** jumps, it definately helps
Reconsider the build overall and make something that could work.
And I'm sorry but.. Manaregen Quints.. ???

Sorry but this build is trash. People need to stop focusing so much on wanting to do the most damage and learn to identify which role a champion suits best.
can you explain why you think it is such trash, as the initator you have 3 thins you want to do, disorient the enemy team, scare their carrys, and not die. this build satisfys all of that.

When i studied Hecarim, i thought of three items i would have; Merc treads, Trinity and Frozen mallet.
The masteries are also how i'd use them but the runes however... yea the quints.
But to me it's either those or Flat HP, Armor pen, Move speed, or maybe some combination of those. I think you did a good job ^^
i have caster qints only lol.and mana regen ain't that bad on alot of champs, irelia, poppy, xin, makes spamming in lane really fun, and with irelia(old main) spamming in lane with just the quints= never miss a single last hit, it just wasn't possible. quints idealy would be flat ad if u go full arpene reds, hp regen for more lane sustain or mspd exactly as you said
