Just today I played against Brand mid. It's ridiculously good. Went 17 4 20, but we did end up losing because our Trynd tried to solo Baron... But anyways, your Q does just too much damage. It's burst is on the level of LB and against LB, your passive makes you unburstable! So I say GO FOR IT!
