Roaming is such an important strategy in low-mid elo. If you do get mid, pick a strong roamer, which can push in seconds. Doesn't matter if you buy a mid-game item like madred's to counter enemy riven, as long as you profit from it. Doesn't matter you get 4-5 health potions when goin back, if it wins your lane, it can potentially snowball and win the game.
