I recommend going for one or the other. Either one is strong but AD Kog is more common/popular, it depends which role you prefer to play.
AP Kog is strong aswell. Post 6, he can dominate anyone. At this point he has
Xerath's ulti on a waay shorter cooldown. And his auto attack damage is pretty strong aswell because of
Bio-Arcane Barrage and mpen (also great combo with
Deathfire Grasp, shred tanks all day long).
But mid he would have problems against the most annoying champs.
LeBlanc,
Cassiopeia, etc...
To make on-hit kog viable, Riot should buff
Malady or give us an item, which builds out of it.
(BTW: For the editors of this page,
Malady got a new picture.

I've just bought Kog'Maw and have been playing for about a week.
The two top guides on him are either an AD build or an AP build but I've been playing him as AS so far with about equal AD/AP and AS cap.
Now is this build viable or should I start using a pure AD or AP build and if so which one and why?
Thanks for help
