My weird rule when playing solo when I am somewhat in a bad mood:
Give each member 5-10 minutes to talk.
I mute people who are not communicating.
I mute people who are just flaming.
That's it.I also mute the enemy team because I hate them all.
I have currently 0 elo since I haven't played any ranked games but people seem rather selfish or rude most of the time, but you get used to it and just mute their ***.

I agree completely. The biggest difference between mid and high ELO is the attitude. You usually don't see people in high ELO completely berating their teammates like you would at a lower ELO.
What the hell kind of high Elo have you been watching? I see people raging all the time.
Being positive only works sometimes. Once someone crosses the rage line, usually no coming back.
Also to agree with Luther, most visible people at high ELO do in fact "berate" other players.

A big chunck of low games are decided by Baron. Either both teams are close and you get ahead with it. Or people just gets very demotivated do mistackes and lose even if they are ahead.
Strongly disagree with this.
Games are usually determined how likeminded or coordinated a team is in terms of their decisions, Baron is an element of this.

2. Be positive. Seriously. Below super-high ELO (1800-2000), 80% of victories are from getting people to shut up, stop bickering, and follow the commands of someone who knows what they're doing. Best way to do that is to calm everyone down, inspire them with your confidence, and get the leader (for me I can usually do it but you may not be able to) to lead. Note that this is different from initiating fights.
