Both are technically classified as 1v1 if it is one champion against one other, but you are right. If the nuker doesn't kill, it becomes nearly a free kill. If he doesn't kill you in a combo (if he actually lands his combo) he is vulnerable. If it was a pure 1v1 match up no jungler or additional lanes to worry about from either side, Veigar still loses. His weakest phase is laning, he needs to farm up his Q, or harass, he can't really do both. The reason being Veigar is a "teamcentric" champion. But that is my opinion.[/quote]

[/quote] lol not really.. veigar gain strenght vs AP enemies but he's totally squishy. it's easy NOT to get stunned by his cage and then you can avoid his W easily. i could take any midchamp vs veigar. he is not the best 1v1 ap champ. AP champs/Mid lane is working due to the COUNTERPICKS. Ever seen someone FIRSTPICK midlane? If yes, I'm sure he got countered.[/quote]
