I still buy RoA if i'm running mid, especially if its one of those stalemate lanes that you know will take forever. That or if their jungler ganks mid often, i have having the extra health/mana for lane presence and additional survivability. I would probably only use full ap fizz if im jungling or something, which i never do anyway :P

Catalyst is great for sustaining laning phase with just about anyone. I have to get Sheen before I max out RoA though.

Talking about early game items on Fizz :
If going Catalyst - Sheen - ROA - Lichbane (with boots Idunnowhere), you totally skip Doran rings, right ?
Between Catalyst/RoA and some Doran, what's the real point that makes one better than the other ?
I was thinking about manapool, as Fizz's one is ridiculous and his skills are quite exepensive (that E, omg)

Yes, Catalyst should completely take care of that mana problem, especially very early. A Doran's Ring wouldn't be a bad idea in there somewhere. I don't rely on them too much since they can't build into anything.
