The Bruiser build still lets you kill people, but you'll do it over time and you'll be a lot tankier for team fights. It's not as strong at carrying, since getting picks solo is more difficult (the enemy has more time to escape or get help), but it guarantees you won't be useless in team fights.

I would definitely say Nocturne seems viable still, given certain conditions. Against a coordinated team, you might crumble early game if the enemy has mid priority and a strong dueling jungler like
The one upside to 8.11 for Nocturne is that snowballing is a bit stronger now, since killing spree shutdowns are less punishing for the team that's ahead, and shutdowns now grant more personal gold (and no team gold), so if you're able to kill a fed adc, you get a bunch of gold for yourself. It can be easier to extend a lead if you're able to get rolling since if you die once you won't give the enemy team a huge gold bounty.
